When my daughter turned one a couple weeks ago I knew I wanted to celebrate with a darling “smash cake” for her. And since I have no skill whatsoever in cake decorating, I turned to the local experts: Cake Krush in Satellite Beach. I had seen Stephanie’s darling cupcakes on Instagram and knew she would make something beautiful. The moment I stepped into her store, I knew I came to the right place! Flowers, glitter, and cupcakes everywhere.

Banana River Cafe

ajorly ❤️crushing❤️ on this place after my experience with the “power bowl” (chorizo, charred pablano aioli, guac, eggs, pico, rice and beans). And that biscuit tho 🤤 . One of the most NOURISHING dishes I’ve had around here, and is reminiscent of how I like to eat when I’m at home (except not this pretty + I could not replicate the flavors in my kitchen.) . @bananarivercafe has an awesome menu that has a good mix of “splurge” items (I was definitely eying that blackberry French Toast 👀) as well as more balanced, healthier options too! Such a great find!🙌🏼

Surfin' Turtle Ice Cream Shoppe

We really liked @pappagallos for a casual, family-friendly Italian joint. Their “Scimmia” bread (aka “monkey bread”) was bomb 💣 and their back patio has an ocean view! 🌅 #scfsatellitebeach

Meriano's Pizza

💎Hidden Gem Alert💎: It’s not often that we recommend gas station eateries (although it wouldn’t be a first for us —looking at you @sergiostacos321), but we recently checked out a new Boston-style pizza shop inside of an Exxon and here’s why we think it deserves a shout-out: 🍕 1️⃣ - we got to step back into the kitchen and watch all of it be made: It’s the real deal, fresh ingredients, amazing flavor. Fun fact: he uses honey instead of sugar 🐝 2️⃣ - It’s got the tiny, hole-in-the-wall, underdog charm that we can’t help but root for - Meriano’s is literally a one man show. Owner Michael is in there everyday making the pizzas from scratch and selling them all on his own. Hard worker with so much heart❤️ 3️⃣ - The portions are mega for the price. That slice in pic #2 is 1/4 of an entire pie and only $3.25. The giant 24” sub isn’t yet on the menu but it easily fed our family for dinner. 🍕
