Melbourne Seafood Station
One of the biggest foodie perks to seaside living here in #brevardcounty is the FRESH SEAFOOD baskets from @melbourneseafoodstation. My shrimp basket came loaded up with buttery Texas toast, corn on the cobb, red potatoes, sausage, and of course the garlic boiled shrimpšŸ¤ Come ready for casual picnic-table outdoor dining, and keep the napkins a flowinā€™ cause youā€™ll be using those fingers for peeling and devouring that buttery goodness šŸ¦€šŸ½šŸ¦

Sugar Shack Donuts & Coffee
is everything a sweet little donut shop should be: creative, ever-changing flavors that taste as good as they look. šŸ© Plan to spend at least 15 minutes drooling at the glass display and having the biggest internal struggle of your life (šŸ‘‰šŸ»SWIPE) deciding what to choose. We arenā€™t regular donut-eaters ourselves, but an occasional Saturday morning trip here does the soul real good ā¤ļø (Also - rumor has it thereā€™s a Butterbeer donut here that sells out notoriously fast; someday it will be mine

Rita's Italian Ice & Frozen Custard
This ainā€™t your mommaā€™s ice cream standšŸ¦Weā€™ve been (im)patiently waiting for the day Riaā€™s opened its doors in Melbourne for a long time. ā€¢ Pictured is a favorite of ours: the Sā€™mores Gelati (imagine Italian ice and ice cream having a baby) and ohhh is it goodšŸ¤¤ Ritaā€™s has an ever-changing menu of flavors and you can choose between your desired combo of Italian Ice, ice cream (custard), and milkshakes. ā€¢

Bean Sprout
Recently we asked in our stories for some sushi recommendations šŸ£ We have so many places to try you guys! Thank you @jenna_lalley_ for recommending Bean Sprouts šŸŒ±, an Asian fusion restaurant in the Avenues. So so good! * Pictured is the Dragon RollšŸ‰ - a good option for sushi beginnersā€” Itā€™s got more character than a basic California roll but nothing too cray cray (or raw). Just super fresh and flavorfulšŸ„‘šŸ¤šŸš * For you more adventurous sushi lovers, you gotta try the šŸ’„Sushi NachosšŸ’„!!(SWIPE) This one does have raw fish, and itā€™s served on large fried wontons with avocados, jalapeƱos, grated cheese, and Thai sauce. We love finding creative and unexpected dishes like thisšŸ‘ŒšŸ¼ * It will be hard not to repeat order when we go again, but the menu is huge and full of amazing dishes that we wanna try, especially their curry bowls!šŸ„˜

La Crepe de France
The pic says it all šŸ˜ Who doesnā€™t love a lovely little creperie? La Crepe de France in historic downtown Melbourne completely charmed us with its sweet little outdoor patio seating and its selection of sweet and savory crepes. šŸ‡«šŸ‡· . We tried the traditional white crepe (sweet) AND the buckwheat (savory) and both were šŸ‘ŒšŸ¼.

La Preferida
Just what weā€™ve been searching for šŸŒ®ā¤ļøšŸ™ŒšŸ¼ Legit street tacos! Double tap if you love tacos, too! . La Preferida in Melbourne was the big winner when we asked for suggestions in this department. We were NOT let down! . Authentic, cheap, friggin delicious tacos right here. We tried the carnitas, chicken & marinated pork tacos AND the pork tostada. . This isnā€™t a fancy affair. These tacos are made in a truck by their little corner store. But when you need a good, quick taco stop (which is always, duh) La Preferida is your placešŸ’ƒ

Crush Eleven
Crush XI | Downtown Melbourne . THIS is the kind of place we want to see more of in Brevard! A fresh, hip take on upscale dining. A place that feels special the minute you walk in the door. A menu full of items that you may have never tried (or heard of!) but that you can trust will be delicious. An adventurous eaterā€™s dream šŸ˜ Double tap if this sounds like your kinda place! . We tried SO many things and they were all unique and incredible in their own way! Highlights included the Medjool dates (šŸ„“bacon-wrapped and filled with goat cheese YAASS), focaccia bread (always my weaknessšŸ„–), the sirracha flat-iron steakšŸ„©, and the carrot cake ice creamšŸ„•šŸ¦ . Whatā€™s fun about this place is their selection of ā€œsnack-sizedā€ portions (most under $10!) that you can order a bunch of and share to taste a variety of things. Lots of entrees too though, swipe to see menu. . Bottom line, @crusheleven has our heart.

Joan's Perfect Pie
If you need us weā€™ll be here in šŸ„§PIE DAY PARADISEšŸ„§ . We had to take advantage of 3-14 at the cutest pie bakery around...Joanā€™s Perfect Pies in the Eau Gallie art district. . First of all, the cute store-front had us at hello. Then, the pies. So many flavors. (See their website for all of them!) And letā€™s just say they donā€™t taste like they came prepackaged from a big-box store. These are your grand-mommaā€™s from scratch kinda pies. šŸ‘µšŸ¼ . We devoured the Salted Caramel Chocolate Pecan. In Joanā€™s words: ā€œRich pecan-studded brownie-like filling drizzled with gooey, homemade salted carmel sauce.ā€ Yes pleasešŸ‘ŒšŸ¼

Burger Place
BEST BUNS AWARD šŸ… . We asked, you answered! The Burger Place in historic downtown Melbourne makes a serious burger, and, dare we say, has the best BUNS weā€™ve ever tasted! Glistening, buttery, fluffy goodness šŸ” Like if you agreešŸ‘ . We love their simple menu and 50s vibešŸ˜Ž And Hudson couldnā€™t have been more excited to see his kids meal come out on the ā€œplateā€ that it did šŸ‘šŸ¼šŸš— Swipe! . We realize weā€™re a little late to the party in loving this classic spotšŸ™ˆ But anyone who hasnā€™t tried it yet, do yourself a favor and add @the_burger_place to your local eats bucket list!

An upscale, farm-to-table spot that is serious about their seafood. But, a little unexpectedly, we found that their BURGERS are a serious experience not to be overlooked šŸ”šŸ¤© The duck-fat fries were glorious, too. . So grateful to one of our followers who suggested this little-known jointšŸ„ž šŸ³ Mulberry Lane Cafe is a breakfast loverā€™s paradise. We knew it was meant to be when we found out they specialize in eggs Benedict dishes šŸ™ŒšŸ¼šŸ˜ . We got the special - the Bangin Benedict (bratwurst + cheddar + potato pancake + hollandaise) Letā€™s just say we had a hard time wanting to share that one šŸ˜† Such a good dish!! . A highlight for us was how they served our blueberry muffin - cut vertically in half and then GRILLED to crispy and warm perfectionšŸ¤¤ Nothing disappoints like cold breakfast pastries, so this won major bonus points for us. Cinnamon roll was on point too šŸ‘ŒšŸ¼

Ichabod's Dockside Bar & Grill
Ichabodā€™s Dockside is a cozy bar & grill with a stellar location. Our 3 year old loved watching the sailboats come and go, and watching a storm roll in over the harbor while we ate was just the coziestā›ˆā›µļø . We tried the Bourbon-Teriyaki Salmon and gave it a thumbs up, but the special that night is what stole our hearts. The yummiest steak atop sweet potatoes & butternut squash with a velvety cream sauce that we could legit drink from a mug if given the chance. And that presentation? Totally had the wow factoršŸ¤©

Cedars Cafe
BRIGHT & FRESH salads from @cedarscafe šŸ…šŸ„—šŸŠWhen we go out to eat, thereā€™s an unwritten *no salads* rule. We like to go for the dish that makes that restaurant special, and salads tend to be a little too run-of-the-mill for us. . However, we were in foodie heaven with these summer salads at @cedarscafe. All of these were light and bursting with great Mediterranean flavor. The favorite for us was the Eggplant Stack (swipe!)šŸ† . Also, the Into the Woods Burger!! Read the description on this one and let the ingenuity blow your mind. A blended lamb bison + mushroom burger with ā€œtoasted almond oats mushroom-white chocolate blackberry granolaā€ + red onion + arugula + blue cheese. Say what?? We love trying new stuff like this! .

Chez Quan's
One of those meals where you take 643 pics of your food and not one of them does it justicešŸ˜‚, but what this dish lacks in photogenic-ness, it makes up for in flavor and this place is totally worth mentioning here! Feels like a funky hole-in-the-wall in downtown Brooklyn (in a good way) Asian takeout-style place with a Thai+Latin twist. Super flavorful - bonus if you like spicy. We got the drunken noodles and the spicy minced basil Thai chicken. Also the curry empanada appetizer is a must!

That COZY Restaurant
If you havenā€™t been to this spot, itā€™s a must. We tell people that itā€™s like a touch (or three) above a Panera Bread-style restaurant with a more thoughtful menu. The atmosphere is .. well, cozy. And the owner is straight from France with a serious fire under his bum to make us Americans happy with his creations. Spoiler alertā€” heā€™s succeeding šŸ˜ . Here is just a fraction of what they fed us...this warm apple pie & ice cream in a jar tho mightā€™ve been the favorite. And the coconut shrimp Mac n Cheese (see our stories) šŸ¤¤ #Scfsuntree #scfmelbourne

Trend Kitchen
or a foodie couple like us, itā€™s always so FUN to try something new together. We havenā€™t dived much into the realm of gourmet French food, so our date night at @trendkitchen was such a treat! . This is a romantically-lit, posh little place that is serious about serving the best of the best. We could go on just gushing about everything we tried (see our blog post tomorrow for more details on these dishes!) but to keep it short - their menu is full of exotic French delicacies šŸ‡«šŸ‡· We tried duck, octopus, arguably one of the best Mac n Cheeseā€™s on the Space Coast, and a caramel gelato peanut butter chocolate ā€œcandy barā€šŸ¤¤ . Tip: get a sitter for this one! This spot is perfect for special occasions, romantic date nights, and adventurous eaters ready to get serious with the menu! .

El Fogon Venezuelan Grill
Ever been super intimidated at a restaurant because you didnā€™t recognize anything on the menu and no one there spoke English?? . Totally happened to us a few days ago at El Fogon food truck šŸš› Never had Venezuelan food before but weā€™d gotten some recommendations for it and were determined to see what the fuss was about. . So we put on our confused faces, asked for the most popular thing and let the chips fall. They served us Arepas (on the left..sooo good!) & we got a chicken empanada for our 3 year old and he was obsessed! He brought it home and just held it, eating it slowly and even brought it in the bath with him šŸ˜‚šŸ›€šŸ»

The Mansion
is special to us because itā€™s one of the first local places we fell in love with when we moved here two years ago. Weā€™ve brought out-of-town relatives here ,celebrated our 5th wedding anniversary here, it was our last nice meal out before our baby girl was born (check out that bump in our stories šŸ¤°šŸ¼) .. Itā€™s got a special Florida charm and rooftop dining, which is magical at night!āļøšŸŒ“ . The menu here is classic American with a Florida twist. Taste of India
The thought of going out to explore little known, small local restaurants was a nice idea, but not something we were actively pursuing (yet). And going out for an ethnic meal weā€™d never tried before, like Indian food, had never really occurred to us. Then fate stepped in and we found ourselves at a tiny Indian restaurant a friend had recommended to us. One look at the menu and we panicked. I called my friend right there and made her tell us exactly what to order, something for Indian food ā€œbeginnersā€. She pointed us in the direction of Chicken Tikka Masala, and THATā€™S when our foodie lives changed forever. The flavors were electric and the creamy, silky sauce felt like a warm hug. After that we were hooked. Whenever we found ourselves in a new city it was all about finding their best Indian restaurant. Birthdays, anniversaries for the next few years were all celebrated with some Chicken Tikka Masala. We tried recreating it at home, but could never get close to restaurant quality flavor and texture. So you better believe when we relocated to Melbourne, we were on the hunt for the best Indian we could find. Enter Taste of India off Wickham Road. Does it have an alluring and charming exterior? No; itā€™s in a small, unassuming strip mall. But the service is kind and welcoming; the lighting is dim and cozy; and then food is a fantastic experience. So when Tylerā€™s birthday came around, Taste of India was an easy choice for our night out. You gotta go with the tried and true favorites when celebrating! We almost always order a Mango Lassi when we come here ā€“ if youā€™ve never had a Lassi before itā€™s a delicious sweet yogurt drink. Trust me, itā€™s a must-order! That huge cone was something new for usā€¦to be honest we didnā€™t really know what it was at first! Our waiter recommended it and called it a ā€œdosaā€ ā€“ basically itā€™s a giant crepe (made with rice and lentils) that you unwrap, and ours came with chicken tikka to put inside. So good! Tyler ordered the chicken Tikka Masala (duh) and I got the Rogan Josh. Tip: ALWAYS order naan on the side of your main dish! Itā€™s a pillowy, buttery soft bread that was born to be dipped in Indian sauces.

WOW we hit the pastry JACKPOT at this little Italian eatery! See our stories for what we meanšŸ˜ . Weā€™ve never been to Italy, but from the moment you walk in here it really feels like an authentic Italian experience with their massive selection of imported cheese on display and giant pastry cases. . Robburritos
This may go down as the restaurant with the most ā€œpersonalityā€ weā€™ve ever been to. Thereā€™s something eye-catching or odd (like the Barbie tree!) going on in every corner of this burrito joint! We chose the ā€œFiestaā€ burrito with Orange sauce, and the ā€œMonsterā€ (it really was massive) with Creamy Chipotle sauce. We also got to try the salsa & guac. The salsa tasted so fresh, but warning: itā€™s hot! The guac was great, with very chunky pieces of avocado and tomato. Also, their plates were on pointThe Monster burrito was our favorite here! It was massive, and the smoked flavor on the pork was fantastic. The creamy chipotle sauce topped it off. Also we regretfully didnā€™t get a photo of our sonā€™s kidsā€™ chicken quesadilla, but it was actually one of the better kidsā€™ menu items weā€™d ever tasted! This zany, fast-casual burrito place was very kid friendly and our server, Patrick, was so genuinely kind. Robbirritos is great for a quick bite of something unique when in Melbourne Beach!

Matt's Casbah
To be honest, weā€™d passed Mattā€™s Casbah ALL the time and didnā€™t even know what it was all about. We assumed it was just a bar or a nightclub, and since we donā€™t drink we assumed it wasnā€™t ā€œour scene.ā€ But we did a little homework and their Instagram definitely showed some good looking food. Plus, restaurants in downtown Melbourne rarely disappoint. This place is located right on main street. So we went in, a little blindly, no real expectations, and brought our kids along (always risky). The first thing that won us over was the large outdoor seating area (covered with fans + misters). We almost ALWAYS opt for outdoor dining because 1. better light for pictures and 2. we donā€™t have to spend our entire meal sshhhhā€™ing our kids. The interior of this place is downright dreamy. Romantic twinkle lights and colorful drapes hang from the ceiling. One look inside though and I was again very grateful for the outdoor area so I didnā€™t have to dine with kids inside of this pristine area. We got started with the Blow Torch Beef (literally, our waiter came out with the blow torch and flamed it right in front of us!) The sweet soy glaze and wasabi mayo gave this such a good flavor! We also tried the Flash Seared Calamariā€” this one packed a punch with its lime juice and chili sauce. The salad was my (Summerā€™s) favorite! We rarely get salads when weā€™re scoping out new restaurants because we want to experience the most ā€œspecialā€ or popular dish. But the ā€œWarm Nutted Goat Cheese Saladā€ did not disappoint. The ginger-cilantro vinaigrette, greens, pita bread, and a huge cake of goat cheese in the middle was an awesome experience. The Garnet & Gold sushi was next. Spicy tuna, krab topped with tuna, tempura flakes, sriracha, masago mayo, eel sauceā€¦it all came together for a very colorful and satisfying sushi roll. Super fresh; bursting with flavor! Our eyes almost popped out of our heads when we were served the ā€œlocal favoriteā€ Crispy Crunchy Whole Fish. This is one of the more unique+memorable dishes weā€™ve tried on the Space Coast. Photos donā€™t do this one justice; itā€™s over a foot long, topped with shrimp and served with their famous garlic+lime chili sauce. (I could eat this sauce by itself, by the way. Sooo good.)
