Hip and modern beer hall featuring an incredible array of housemade beers and craft cocktails. The menu frequently changes, but it's always top notch. Charcuterie plates are the best place to start your meal. Current faves include grilled octopus, sweet breads, the cheeseburger and hanger steak

The downtown stalwart is still churning out innovative seasonal dishes. The ricotta gnocchi alla bolognese is the most popular dish, but take a look at the chicken live pate too. Be sure to order a cocktail or indulge in a drink from the James Beard Award-winning wine program

Halls Chophouse
The best service in Charleston. They always make you feel like royalty. Steak is king, but the entire menu is tasty - fresh seafood, veal, pork, roasted chicken, and amazing sides

The Ordinary
Housed in a 1920s bank, they offer some of the best seafood dishes in town. The Raw Bar is incredible. Always grab an oyster slider or two to go with your meal

Husk
The menu features modern Southern dishes and frequently changes. The bar program (and standalone Bar at Husk) are both stellar. The cheeseburger and fried chicken are considered some of the best in the city.

Martha Lou's Kitchen
This Charleston classic (has been in business for 30+ years) is a must visit. The tiny, pink building houses some of the best southern staples in the city. You can't go wrong with anything on the menu, but the fried chicken, lima beans, and turkey wings are amazing
