Aguas Calientes
It is everything you want it to be: spiritual, moving, breathtaking and rich with history. We worked with an amazing private guide and hiked Huayna Picchu- the best hike you can do if not trekking the Incan Trail.

No wonder this has been consistently in the top five of the Worlds Best restaurants and twice Michelin starred. It’s innovative flavors from all ecosystems in Peru married with their use of ancient Peruvian cooking techniques- blew us away. It is definitely worth the trip and hands down one of my favorite meals of my life.

Casa Andina Premium Valle Sagrado Hotel & Villas
Beautiful hotel and a wonderful getaway from the dusty travel through the mountains. We stayed here to acclimate to the altitude, and you can easily visit Ollantaytambo, Moray, and Pisac from here. They even had a playground if you bring the kids. Good food as well!

Pisac
The village itself has a nice market but the main draw is the hilltop Incan citadel with ancient temples, plazas and the Intihuatana, a stone structure thought to have been a sundial. Views from the top stretch across the Quitamayo gorge and surrounding valley. Stunning in person to see how the Incans studied agriculture by planting crops at different heights, hence the “steps” that cover the mountainside. Definitely visit!
