Train from Adelaide to Melbourne: The Overland; Pay for Red Premium seat; delicious meals included, roomy seat, very clean, friendly staff, worth the extra money for 11 hrs.

Get Myki right away to ride all the public transport So many options for food and drinks Things to do: Shop Queen Victoria Market South Yarra; Chapel street for shopping Fitzroy; restaurants off the beach, Luna park Great Ocean Rd. Train from Melbourne to Sydney: very cheap, coach seating, food/drink for purchase, 11 hrs. Do the overnight train so you don’t spend money on extra food/drinks and you don’t have to pay for accommodation that night.

eat lunch there because it gets way too busy at night for dinner; there is also two free light shows (about 7 min. long) every night that are projected on the sails of the opera house.
