Grey Lady
One of the reasons I picked it is because it has an awesome happy hour 3-5:30pm, and with the prices in this town, that's awesome. The $7 HH rose wine was delicious and a nice big pour, and the $9 bowl of juicy mussels is a steal at HH. I also loved the clam chowder, as well as the crab cakes ($9 on the dinner menu). Everything tasted super fresh and well made. And this isn't just a seafood place. I had the Brick on a Chick (half a chicken cooked under a brick to press it down and help crisp the skin) -- and it was so tender and flavorful and amazing. great for happy hour, it is dog friendly and is a great place just to grab a drink! WARNING: they do typically close during the off season

Meat & Cheese Restaurant and Farm Shop
My favorite restaurant in Aspen for good food in a chill environment. I don't typically visit a restaurant twice on vacation, but Meat & Cheese was a necessary exception. The service was great on both visits. The signature “boards” of charcuterie (including Avalanche’s own goat and pork salumi), cheese, rotisserie chicken, and porchetta are delicious The inside seating was a little cramped so I'd recommend patio seating if it's the right season. The store inside offers a large selection of gourmet foods, fresh meats, and cheeses. This would be a great spot to grab food for a picnic or a quiet evening at home.

Annette's Mountain Bake Shop
cozy hole-in-the-wall restaurant! Even a lot of locals don’t know about this place. Make sure you arrive early because the best food runs out fast and the line gets very long (doughnut Thursdays are madness). The sandwiches and daily specials (meatball, juicy porchetta or brisket, pissaladiere, soups, salads…) are amazing, but make sure you save room for the cloudlike macarons, Kouign-Aman, and pine nut cookies. Not to mention, all of the bread is made in-house and the bagels are the real deal!!

Cache Cache
Care for some wine? There are 5,000 bottles to choose from in the cellar. A few of my favorites are the frisée salad with duck egg, French onion soup, and the Osso Buco. It is a relatively expensive place but the service is just as amazing as the food so i tis definitely worth it

J-Bar
the scene is laid-back and the décor all about the Old West. lunch for the best burger in town: a juicy, stacked beauty with all the fixings; the hearty salads (kale Caesar, bbq chicken..), and starters like the famous spinach and artichoke dip are other great ways to fortify yourself. Order up a whiskey neat!!

Mawa's Kitchen
Aspen Kitchen has a gorgeous dining room and a hip vibe. They have contemporary American cuisine with a ski town emphasis. Deviled duck eggs, elk tartare and Colorado strip bass. If the weather's nice, make sure to sit out on the huge patio that has great views, an outdoor bar, and fire pits.

Justice Snow's
Justice is one of the only restaurants in town that offers bottomless mimosas during breakfast, perfect for those enjoying a day off or needing a little liquid courage before hitting the slopes. Some local favorites include the JS Breakfast Burrito and the Duck Confit Hash. Bon Appetit.

Spring Cafe
It has a large selection of vegetarian/organic items including juices, smoothies, salads, sandwiches and other entrees. The veggie burger is really good and I enjoyed a good kale salad and tasty gazpacho on my last visit.

Pine Creek Cookhouse
One of my favorite places for lunch with amazing views. During the winter you can snowshoe, cross country or take the sleigh from the Ashcroft parking area; in the summer you can drive to the restaurant. A great place after hiking the Cathedral or American Lake trails.
