Rangitoto Island

is BEAUTIFUL. You take a short ferry ride which allows you to get up close to the blue water, and then you can enjoy one of their famous wineries on the island while getting a view of the skyline and North Island

were something I totally underestimated. We took a boat INSIDE of the caves, hearing about the history of the people that discovered it and learning about its preservation. The grand finale - dead silence in pitch black dark as you slowly ride in the boat
