Tapa Tapa
I, of course, had to order the calamari and joined everyone else in having a Sangria (I don’t know how I’ve never heard of or tried one before!? but it was delicious).

Plaça de Catalunya
where there was an overwhelming congregation of pigeons (I felt like the bird lady in that one scene of Mary Poppins).

La Rambla
Then, we went to Las Ramblas, which is a popular tourist street with stores and shops outlined by these beautiful trees.

Espit Chupitos
It was cool, they had like hundreds of different and iconically named “shots”, each with it’s own “performance” you had to do.

La Sagrada Familia
and seeing it in the day time was nothing like what we saw the night before. There was SOOO much incredible detail from every angle of the church. They began construction on the church 1882 and the designer died in the 1920s or so. In honor of his memory, the city continued to construct and build upon this beautifully intricate church down to the very last detail of his design. They are still not finished and probably won’t be finished for another 30 years or so. We did an self-guided tour inside. The glass windows gave its modern interior an angelic appearance. Incredible, as my sister would say.

Alsur Café (El Born)
where I had the most delicious breakfast sandwich I think this world has ever known. I kid you not. I still think about it days later. It was a fried egg, bacon and cheese staked between a glazed donut. Me gustó (I hope thats right…)

Park Güell
For the Cheetah girl fangirls, you should know exactly where this is. It’s the mosaic bench park that overlooks Barcelona. Getting there wasn’t easy. We were left breathless. Not because of the beautiful scenery, but because of the long road inclines and stairs we had to climb to get there. (That clearly was my workout for the day). The struggle, however, was so worth it. You could actually see everything from Parc Guell. The mosaic benches were so colorful and beautiful.

Bunkers del Carmel
which was supposedly THE most beautiful place to see the city and watch the sunset. I thought walking up that one long inclined road was bad to get to the park, but NOTHING compares to how exhausted my legs were from the multiple hills and stairs we had to climb. It felt like actual eternity. But, again, once we got to the top (which consisted of a large congregation of people just chilling), it was so incredibly worth it. From this view, you could actually see the ENTIRE city, with the sun setting directly behind another cliff off in the distance.
