Glasgow
GLASGOW. So much to see, so little time. Our flat was about a 45 minute walk to the city center. At first, we thought it would be a cool idea to walk, get some fresh air but ONE, there were very busy roads and express ways and TWO, it was freakin cold. Reminded me of Chicago. So, wisely, we relied on transit to get us to the main part of the city. When you’re the only one with unlimited data, people rely heavily on you to get from place to place haha.

The Wilson Street Pantry
One of Andrea’s first recommendations is that we “musttttt go to Wilson Street Pantry“. So, that’s exactly what we did. And it did NOT disappoint! It was an adorable cafe that had a brunch to die for. French toast and bacon never leave me disappointed:)

George Square
We arrived near George Square, the main area of the downtown, and headed to brunch. After brunch We then decided to walk around George Square for an hour or so, walk off all the calories we just consumed.

The Necropolis
(a graveyard) and the Cathedral, both of which were very old and gothic looking (which I find super fascinating).

Edinburgh Castle
Getting off the bus, we had a clear view of the Edinburgh castle high on its hill. I had such a great first impression of this city. I don’t know what exactly it was, but the overall layout, the city dynamics and not to mention the beautiful gothic architecture was very appealing to me. We hiked up the hill to get to the castle (if my legs are not in the best shape of my life after my study abroad trip, I don’t know what I did wrong…lol). The view from the top was incredible. One one side, you could see the city buildings with the ocean in the background. On the other, you could see more of the city with beautiful green hills in the distance.

Hummingbird
Scotland nightlife is very clubby, but classy club style. We went to a bar called Hummingbird and it was very cool! Everyone looked so stylish and so did the layout of the bar. Many floors with many private rooms. We didn’t stay too long though because there were a lot of private parties going on

Kokomo Glasgow
We ended up at a club called Kokomo, got in FOR FREE and got to dance, which I had been dying to do. I love dancing, even though it may not look cool hahaha.

The Fruitmarket Gallery
we headed to the art museum, we stopped in this little art gallery/cafe/book shop called the Fruitmarket Gallery. I spent at least 20 minutes looking at books; they had very fun and creative options to choose from

National Museum of Scotland
It was AWESOME. So much to see, and looking back at my experience there, it reminds me of being at the Field Museum in Chicago. Loved it. I felt like a kid again. Overall, my experience of Edinburgh was a good one. I would love to go back and experience it in warmer weather. I feel like I would enjoy it even more than I already did!

Nardini's
Andrea told me, and I quote, “OMGOMG, go to Nardini. Get the Belgian chocolate ice-cream. Thank me later”. So that’s exactly what I did (also added some warm brownie bites). OH MY GOD, that was some of the greatest gelato/ice cream I’ve ever haddddd. Highly recommend you stop there if you ever find yourself in Glasgow.

Demijohn
and apparently its the world’s first “liquid deli”. Basically, there are giant tubs of liquor of all types and flavors you can taste and buy by the milliliter in these cute bottles. So, I couldn’t pass this opportunity up. I bought a small squiggly bottle and filled it with Butterscotch liquor. I could even have them write a personalized message on the bottle. So as a souvenir, I had them write “Glasgow, 2017”. PERFECT KEEPSAKE
