Peterhof
summerl house of peter the great. The grotto tour is amazing and although we didn’t see it, the interior of the palace as well. Make sure to leave time for exploring the fountains and paths through the grounds. Recommend taking a boat there instead of the train.

needs no explanation. Has many of the same dancers / shows as you can find at the Mariinsky but at a lower price and closer to the city center. Dom Knigi

Sever
soviet era cafe and patisserie, the sweets are extremely sweet, they also have pies and coffee. Definitely old-school and something russians who grew up in soviet times would know very well.

across from the Mariinsky theater, great for pre or post-performance food. They have authentic cuisine but I did have the sense that they cater a lot to tourists.

Imperial Porcelain
original style porcelain produced at the imperial porcelain factory. Go to one of the original shops if you want to buy it (not the tourist shops near the hermitage)

State Hermitage Museum
self explanatory. Tons of stuff to see, the rooms of the tsars is probably the most interesting, a lot of foreign stuff that they collected similar to other museums around the world.
