South Beach
1.1 miles of beautiful public beach on Martha’s Vineyard in Katama (part of Edgartown). There is parking behind the beach and plenty of room to enjoy the sun. The waves can get big and powerful so be careful with little kids. 5 lifeguard stands along the beach with first aid. No dogs allowed during lifeguard hours (9am - 5pm) during the summer. No food or drinks sold on beach so pack your own or load up at Katama General Store on the way!

Beautiful waterfront 18 hole golf course in Oak Bluffs - and it’s open to the public so anyone can sign up to play golf or tennis! A favorite of vacationing US Presidents, if you like to golf, this is not to be missed!

The Aquinnah Shop Restaurant
Restaurant with the most incredible views of the ocean and perfect for sunset (bring a sweater or sweatshirt, it can get chilly at night!). Ask to sit outside on the deck to get the most of the view. Arrive early to see the Aquinnah Cliffs overlook and the lighthouse and browse the little gift shops before lunch or dinner.

MORNING GLORY FARM
The BEST fresh fruits and veggies on island. Strawberries and corn are local favorites if you can grab them in time (Morning Glory is always packed, for good reason). Baked goods are also great - the zucchini bread is my absolutely favorite and pies and jam bars are runners up. They also have a nice salad bar and some other lunch to go items.

Harbor View Hotel
A huge resort hotel on Edgartown Harbor. It has multiple restaurants, hotel rooms, cottages for families, a pool, activities for kids and more. At the edge of Edgartown so easy to walk to the shops and restaurants nearby, but tucked at the end of North Water Street with sweeping views of the water and Edgartown Lighthouse

Nancy's Restaurant
A Vineyard institution on Oak Bluffs Harbor always packed with tourists and visitors. You can get take out on the ground level and sit at picnic tables or get a table inside or on the upstairs deck for restaurant service. Always busy, so if you’re looking for a quiet spot avoid this :) If you go, they’re famous for their Dirty Banana frozen cocktails

Yoga Barn
My favorite place for yoga on island (and maybe anywhere else), the Yoga Barn is a relaxing refuge where you can practice while enjoying a light breeze, hearing birds chirping, with views of open fields, a pond and stone walls. Most classes are an hour and half to allow for a non-rushed class experience. A Michelle Obama favorite! Sign up online in prime summer months as it almost always fills up!

Lamberts Cove Beach
Only for West Tisbury town residents with parking passes from 10am-5pm (during summer season Memorial Day to Labor Day), but anyone can park and enjoy the beach from 7am-10am and 5pm-9pm daily. Also dog friendly and it’s packed with pups in the morning and evening. Great place for a morning swim or to enjoy sunset. Bit of a walk from the parking lot to the beach through a wooded path so plan accordingly.

Joseph Sylvia State Beach
Public beach that stretches all the way from Oak Bluffs to Edgartown. Parking is on the road along side - get there early to get a spot. Lifeguards located at “Bend in the Road” Beach - the part of the beach closest to Edgartown town - where there is also a little parking area, wheelchair access and picnic tables - great for grabbing dinner to go and enjoying it on the beach. Perfect for young kids as there are no waves.

Humphreys Bakery
One of the best sandwiches on MV, and they are enormous. The Humphrey’s turkey gobbler (roasted turkey, stuffing, cranberry sauce) is a favorite, but will also put you in a food coma. All sandwiches - mozzarella tomato, Cuban, chicken salad, ham, turkey - are on thick slices of homemade bread and will keep you full all day

Atria
A favorite on island for a special dinner or cocktail on the lawn before heading out. Food is excellent and the whole outdoor garden (with tree swing, cornhole, and fire pits) and inside was recently redone. If you’re looking for something more casual, go downstairs to the basement bar for one of the best burgers I’ve ever had in my life. And get the truffle fries :)

Beach Road
Same owners as State Road. One of my favorite spots for lunch or dinner on island located in Vineyard Haven. Beautiful views of the Lagoon, delicious fresh food, and now serving beer, wine and cocktails (Vineyard Haven was a dry town until a couple years ago). Also an Obama favorite - the last couples time I was there, we had a sighting.

The Black Dog Tavern
Opened in 1969, this is the original Black Dog on Vineyard Haven Harbor. Cozy indoor dining that makes it feel like you’re on an old wooden ship. Egg scrambles, home fries and pancakes are personal favorites. It gets busy but you can check out the general store behind the tavern for Black Dog t-shirts and gear or sit on the beach or dock while you wait. Particularly cozy in the winter months!

One of the most spectacular views on the island, come up and check out the Aquinnah Cliffs overlook where you’ll see the red clay cliffs, historic brick lighthouse and 180 degree views of the ocean. Grab a bite to go at one of the fish shacks or sit down at the Aquinnah Shop for breakfast, lunch or sunset dinner. Home Port Restaurant
Best restaurant in Menemsha fishing village, the seafood is coming straight off the boat and could not be fresher. Grab take out from Home Port “Back Door” and sit at the picnic tables overlooking the water or take it down to the nearby public beach. Lobster roll is my favorite, but most people get a full fresh lobster and steamers (clams) with the traditional sides of corn and potatoes. Must go!

Long Point Wildlife Refuge Beach
Drive down a long dirt road and arrive at beautiful Long Point, a south shore beach (waves!), pond, and wildlife refuge managed by an island group that protects natural lands. There is a grass parking lot that is first come first serve, and it’s a small fee for the car to park. Best part is you get the ocean on one side and pond on another - salt or fresh water for whatever you’re feeling!

The Newes From America
My favorite pub on island, feels like you go back in time when you walk into the Newes. Food is on the heavier side but everything is great, especially the bag of onion rings. If you go in the colder months, you can enjoy the fireplace. Make sure you ask for a wooden nickel for every beer pint ordered.

Menemsha
Picturesque fishing village (scenes from Jaws were filmed here) and one of the best places to see sunset on Martha’s Vineyard. Enjoy the public beach during the day and snag a spot for sunset (parking is tricky during prime summer months!) with beach chairs, drinks and a blanket. Stock up on lobsters, lobster rolls, steamers, corn, etc. from Larsen’s or Menemsha Fish Market right by the beach. Enjoy the fresh seafood right off the boat and a beautiful sunset!

Allen Farm Sheep & Wool Co
The oldest working farm on island, this incredible farm and property has been in the Allen family since the 1700s. Also my favorite place / view on the entire island (we got married here so I’m also biased!). Stop by the farm shop for fresh lamb, wool items, eggs and other gifts and enjoy the beautiful property. If you go in the spring, maybe you’ll get lucky and can meet the new baby lambs!

Take the little Chappaquiddick “Chappy” Ferry from Edgartown across the channel to Chappy (ride takes 5 minutes) and explore this separate remote island. Bring bikes on the ferry and bike around, find some beach and enjoy. No reservations needed for ferry - cars (takes 2-3 at a time) and walk on passengers line up and the two running ferries bring people over and back. Ferry runs early to ~midnight.

Consistently one of the best restaurants on island, located right in the center of Edgartown. You can’t go wrong with anything you order, but definitely get some seafood as it’s as fresh as can be.
