Tai O
Loosely dubbed as 'Venice of Hong Kong', Tai O is located on the Lantau Island and is home to the Tanka people, a community of fishing villagers who've built their houses on stilts for generations, a stark contrast to the high-rise buildings you typically see in Hong Kong. To get to Tai O you need to take a ferry and a connecting bus, it is well worth the trip for the scenery and local food.

Wanaka
This is a smaller and cosier (and cheaper) version of Queenstown in the South Island of New Zealand. I fell in love with this young and vibrant town right away, with its gorgeous Lake Wanaka overlooking the mountains, a wonderful mix of cool restaurants, shops and cafe, and just a short drive to two ski resorts!

Zhangjiajie National Forest Park
Many people would know the move Avatar, but I am guessing many are not aware of Zhangjiajie. Zhangjiajie is where Pandora in the movie was based on, the floating mountains and Hallelujah Mountain were inspired by the pillar-like formations that are seen throughout the park.
