A gem on Cuba Street and a real Wellington icon - if you can get a seat in the courtyard, definitely opt for it! The lush gardens transport you to somewhere magical and ever changing waffle specials are always delicious

The Botanist
Plant based folks will love The Botanist. The location is handy to the airport so makes sense for a pre or post airport meal. They also have a great outdoor area which is dog friendly.

Maranui Cafe
A true Wellington icon - so iconic that even Harry and Meghan had to stop over on their autumn tour. The eggs benny is always perfection but the cabinet is where food porn comes alive

Two Grey Bar and Brasserie
Slick interior and on trend menu with things like acai bowls and matcha lattes. Try the coconut flat white - we reckon it is the best in Wellington

The Bresolin
Great for groups and the courtyard is pooch friendly too. The bacon butty is always great value for money but we can't go past the burger and fried chicken most of the time.. Great coffee from Gentlemens Beans too!

Pickle & Pie
As expected the pie (both savoury and sweet) is a real winner here but the rueben sandwiches and bloody mary's are the best. If it's sunny, grab a spot outside and swap that BM for an aperol spritz and enjoy the sushine

Neo Cafe & Eatery
A busy spot with a menu with something for everyone. The porridge is a winner for colder days and raw treats in the cabinet are great if you've got a sweet tooth but don't want to feel guilty

A real hidden treasure on upper Cuba Street. Arthur's is a converted house with a whole lot of character. Try the hot chocolates!
