Little Penang
With two locations in the capital, this has you set for lunch or dinner. Most meals are under $15 and super filling, not to mention packed with flavour. The mee goreng is our absolute favourite, closely followed by the nasi goreng.

Press Hall
A dining hall of the best sorts - a mecca of delicious and well priced food. Some of our faves here are Bao Boy, Fratelli, Tommy Millions and Yoshi.

The Ramen Shop
Big bowls of steaming hot ramen, delicous rice bowls and the chunkiest pork belly bao buns you can get in the capital. Highly recommend getting a side of karaage with your bowl of ramen because it's just that delicious

Lucky
Lucky is basically like elevated KFC in the best way possible. The poppers are the perfect on the go snack but highly recommend the jackpot burger - haloumi and fried chicken. Yes please.

Where's Charlie? Lambton Quay store
Fresh Vietnamese flavours for under $15. We love the lemongrass beef, you do need to be quick at lunch times though as they can often sell out of it! Lemongrass chicken is also delicous. Have it on rice or with noodles with a salad on the side.

The Oaks Satay Noodle House
One of the original places to get Asian food in Wellington, we love their Pad Thai and it will always remain at the top of our Pad Thai list. Great spot for people watching too.

Mekong Cafe
Vietnamese food is a-plenty in Wellington and Mekong is definitely worthly of being on your list of must-try's in the capital. Hue spicy beef is a favourite for those times when you're feeling a bit under the weather and need a pick me up.

Kilim
If you can get out to their store in Petone great but if not the one in the CBD is just as good. Their falafel is some of the best we've had and serving sizes are massive. If you can - try the choc cake. It will change your life.

Moore Wilson's
Food truck based at Tuatara Brew's The Third Eye just off Cuba Street, their rubs are second to none. Great BBQ - highly recommend the platter or the brisket cheeseburger

Soul Shack
Don't let the location inside a cinema fool you - some of the best hot chicken in Wellington. Deliciously simple and not for the faint hearted
