Hong Kong
Watching the Symphony of Lights at Victoria Harbour and riding the cable car to Ngong Ping (where the giant Tian Tan Buddha is located) were worthwhile experiences. Invest in an Octopus card. You can use it to conveniently pay fares on public transport like the MTR, buses, trams and ferries.

You must explore the grounds of the Senate Square and the Sao Paulo Ruins in Macau, as well as the Fisherman's Wharf (a theme park with miniature monuments from different parts of the world). Take advantage of the free hotel shuttle rides to get you from one place to another.

Shenzhen
Go around the world in under a day by visiting Shenzhen's 'Window of the World', and find mini-replicas of some of the world's famous landmarks (e.g. Eiffel Tower, Little Mermaid, Statue of Liberty, Sydney Opera). It's an experience like no other. Joining group tours means you'll be sharing only one visa. If someone in your group loses their passport (for example), you won't be able to cross the border. If you can afford it, get your own visa.

Phuket may have some of the nicest waves and beaches, but Bangkok has one of the best areas to explore in terms of learning Thailand's culture and heritage. A tour of the Grand Palace and the Wat Po temple, and a night cruise along the Chao Phraya River are definite must-trys. The Pad Thai Shop in Phuket has one of the best Pad Thai's for only 50 Baht (one order is already good for two pax).

Jeonju-si
I loved Jeonju for its provincial setting. If you can attend their annual film festival, you will surely enjoy the creative film entries. And while you're there, make sure to explore the nearby Hanok Village. There are plenty of heritage sites in Jeonju that you can easily walk to and visit for free, like the Hanok Village. Just invest in a good pair of shoes for ease of travel.

Ho Chi Minh City
The food may be dirt cheap in Ho Chi Minh City, but the taste and quality are definitely 5 stars! If there's a food paradise for me, this city would be it. Make sure not to miss the dirt-cheap yet thirst-quenching Saigon beers at Bui Vien. Everyone goes here for the cheap beer.

Penang is truly one of the world's best city's to visit, mainly for its sensational street art(very Instragram-worthy) and historical sites. The street art murals are located outdoors, so you won't get charged for any admission fees. Just bring water and some snacks, as you might get hungry during your walking tour.

Krong Siem Reap
Seeing the Angkor Wat in real life was a dream realized. I may have experienced temple fatigue while exploring the temple complex, but the exhaustion was worth it. If you want to maximize your visit of the temples, buy the Angkor Archaeological Pass that fits your duration of stay. If you’re only staying in Siem Reap for 4 days, you can get the 3-day pass for only $62.

Dubai
If you haven't been to the City of Superlatives, then now's the time. It's where you will find the biggest of everything such as Burj Khalifa (world's tallest building), Dubai Mall (second largest mall in the world), Dubai Fountain (world's largest performing fountain). While Dubai is an expensive city to visit, you can still explore it without spending so much. Buy a NOL card (use it to pay for public transport) and use it to commute your way around the city.

If you want to experience the best of both Europe and Asia, Georgia is your place. The sites are amazing especially during winter time, and the food is cheap and very tasty (must-try local dishes are the Khinkali, Kachapuri and Mtsvadi). Stay at Old Tbilisi and make it your base location. You can do a DIY City tour, which you can do at your own pace. You can also book tours from local agencies for as low as 50 Gel per person.

This country may be called the City of Fines. But it's because of the strict rules that help make it so progressive. It's a safe place to explore, and is home to the Merlion and the Super Tree Grove. If you're looking for reasonably-priced and on-sale electronics, head to Sim Lim. Also, if you're a tourist, make sure that your purchases are eligible for a GST refund.
