Ilha Grande
About a 2 hour bus ride away from Rio is this gorgeous island. It's the perfect place to go snorkeling or scuba diving since the water is so clear! You have to go on a day tour here and they take you to 4-5 different beaches and have drinks on board!

Christ the Redeemer
A must see in Rio considering it's one of the 7 wonders of the world. Be prepared for the intense wind and crazy amount of people who are up there. It's pretty hard to get a decent picture unless it's a very awkward/bad angeled selfie.

Maracanã
Once the stadium with the highest number of occupany. There's an option to to a guided tour but I wouldn't recommend it since they say the same things that are listed at each point

Santa Teresa
One of the barrios in Rio. Most blogs say it's dangerous and you should only visit during the day but I didn't eperience anything out of the ordinary. It's the cutest little boho places I have ever visited. There's many street vendors and boutiques with one of a kind pieces for sale.

Lapa
Another barrio in Rio but this one is known for it's crazy nightlife. Street vendors cover the main street and everyone gathers and dances to Brazilian music. The party here usually lasts until 8-9am.

Ipanema
This barrio also has many boutiques/restaurants/and bars. I believe this is a better place to stay at rather than Copacabana.
