St Mark's Campanile

Piazza San Marco
St. Mark’s Square is very busy but is one place you need to visit in Venice. It is the main square off the Grand Canal and is the city‘s focal point with the palace, cathedral, clock tower, restaurants and cafes.

Saint Mark's Basilica
A beautiful Italian Byzantine cathedral that should not be missed. Remember to cover your shoulders when entering or you will need to rent a scarf to wear.

Doge's Palace
The seat of Venetian government sits in this stunning gothic palace with painted ceiling and stately rooms. You can cross the bridge of sighs from inside and view the old prison.

Peggy Guggenheim Collection
One of my favorite art museums that I have ever visited. The gallery is located in Peggy Guggenheim’s former Venice home and there are photos of the gallery when she resided here. The artwork collection is very impressive and has a wonderful view of the Grand Canal.

Gallerie dell'Accademia
Inside holds the largest collection of Venetian art. It is located along the South Bank and housed inside the Scuola Della Carita. It is another of my favorite Venice museums.

Torcello
This little island was settled in the 452 AD and has a little cathedral and cafes. There are water taxis to Torcello from Venice with stops to Murano and Burano.
