Ljubljana Castle
The castle is close to the city center and you can take a funicular to the hilltop. The castle is fun for all ages and they hold events so check their calendar for fun things to do.

Oštarija Babji zob
Located by the bus station, this restaurant is a little gem. The warm bread served in a little cloth bag, the seasonal salads and the homemade chicken pâté are delicious!

Ljubljana
Ljubljana is a lovely walkable city with a colorful old town. The food is fantastic and I recommend Zlata Ribica for Incredible traditional Slovenian cuisine. I recommend the Kranjska sausage with polenta and for dessert their homemade Gibanica.

Lake Bled
This fairytale like lake can be accessed by bus from Ljubljana. You can walk full circle around the lake and take a boat to the Church on the island. Don’t forget to have a slice of Bled Cream Cake at Cafe Belvedere!

Bled
BLED CREAM CAKE! The best place for it is Cafe Belvedere along the Lake. There is a lovely view of the church on the island from the balcony where you can enjoy a glass of wine and a piece of cream cake.

Tromostovje
The Triple Bridge is one of Ljubljana’s most photographed landmarks. Take a boat cruise along the river to get views from beneath the three bridges.

Zlata Ribica
I ate a lot here, I mean a lot! Zlata Ribica is a wonderful restaurant in the center of Ljubljana, that servers traditional Slovenian food and coctails. There is both outside and inside seataing but I opted for outside seating since it was a lovely day. The restaurant is upscale casual and is a delicious way to have a nice lunch or dinner. I recommend ordering the Kranjska Klobasa z domaco polento which is Kranjska sausage (Slovenian sausage) and homemade polenta. If you enjoy cheese, the cheese dumplings are fantastic. If you have room for dessert, try their Prekmurska Gibanica which is a traditional layered cake- so delicious!

Gostinstvo in plovba po Ljubljanici, Franc Fridrih s.p.
For around 10 euro, you can spend an hour cruising along the Ljinljanica. This is a great way to see the waterways and neighborhoods outside of the city center as well as going under the triple bridge.

Movia vinska klet
Try the orange wine! Wonderful wine tasting and cheese boards here. The sommelier is very knowledgeable about the making of Slovenia’s orange wine and other local wineries.
