Mother Teresa
Saint Mother Teresa was born in Skopje. Although her house is no longer there there is a church and Museum dedicated to her. I found the museum very interesting as it was filled with artifacts of her life including a copy of the Nobel Peace prize that she had won.

Free Skopje Walking Tours
Although the city of Skopje is not that big, taking the free walking tour is very valuable. In a matter of a couple of hours, you will start from one end of the city an end up in the older parts of Skopje. Along the way you will visit historical sites as well as learn the history of the city.

Old Market
I love bazaars in the Balkans! The old Marketplace in Macedonia it's full of small wiping streets, shops and cafes. This is where you can pick up souvenirs as delicious baklava!

Skopje
Skopje is the capital of Macedonia. It is a very eclectic City that combines the old and the new. There is an old Bazaar in the older part of the city. The newer part of the city is full of statues and when I mean full of statues I mean full of statues! Take the free walking tour which gives you a good inside of the city. The city is very safe and friendly. I liked it a lot!

Restaurant Dion
Dion is delicious and only a few minutes from the city center. On the menu are plenty of traditional dishes if you are wanting to try Macedonian cuisine. I recommend the stuffed peppers and the Traditional "Dion". The Dion is a casserole of pork, beef and chicken, mushrooms, a thick sauce and topped with cheese. It is quite the heavy dish!
