The hike up to this view point was incredible!! We used a local guide to get here on motor bikes and the guide waited for us at the bottom until we were finished. All of the locals know how to get here, but it would be hard to find on your own since there really aren’t any street signs

Halong Bay
This should be on everyone’s buck list!! The views in this bay are unbelievable. The viewpoint in this picture is actually from a closed down hiking trail at the top of a mountain with It‘s entrance in a locals backyard. If you find the right local and pay them then they will give you access to go up otherwise you can’t get here because the government locked up all other entrances.

Cát Bà Island
this is the “low key” island of halong bay and honestly where you should stay if you have the extra day to get there and extra day to get back allocated for. It’s less touristy and shows you so many more unique places around the bay. I prefer here over regular halong

Hanoi
This city is the gateaway to a lot of great places in vietnam! Easy to reach halong, sapa, and ninh binh to name a few! They have really great food around the city and it’s worth a night’s stay to truly have a day to explore it, but I didn’t stay more than a day!

Mua Caves Ecolodge
By far the craziest and coolest hotel I have ever stayed at in my life. The rooms are simple, but the view and location is out of this world!!!! Never in my life did I think I would experience a place like this, but it is worth every penny and such a relaxing and unique experience

Mũi Né
We did a day trip here from Ho Chi Minh city and it was really cool! They take you to the local fishing area, then you can arc through the vast white Sand dunes and you finish your day at the red sand dunes. A lot is packed into one day but worth it if you enjoy sand dunes!

Sa Pa
One of my favorite places in Vietnam!!! Take the sleeper train to get here and leave here because then you don’t lose any valuableTime while traveling since you would be sleeping during that time anyway. If you do a multiple day trek you will have to stay in home-stays but I did a one day trek and it was still incredible!! We treks through 6 different mountainous villages for 12 hours and it was something I will never forget. That trek was hard yet 60+ year old do it everyday in flip flops and I couldn’t do it in gym shoes without falling a million times haha

Tam Coc Ninh Binh
One of my favorite viewpoints in all of Vietnam!! I would have never known how to get here without a guide because it’s so hidden and there is little signage. The countryside is jaw-dropping and I couldn’t get over it. Warning: coming here is summer you will sweat your butt off because the climb to get to the top is rough. In any of the other months the climb won’t be that bad but in the summer it’s a wholeOther story. Form here you can always get to so many other places so definitely hire a motorbike guide(s) for the day!

Mekong Delta Tour
I would do this in you find yourself in Ho Chi Minh city! It’s an easy day trip and taking a ride down the delta let’s you experience a whole other world. It’s cheap and unique and you get a small glimpse at their culture even through the tourist trap aspects of it

Poem Mountain
I’m not sure if you’re still able to access this hike anymore because I know the Vietnam government was cracking down on letting people still go up, but if you can get up here then you NEED to do it. This view made my mouth drop and it was one of the coolest sunsets I ever got to see. The hike up is steep and you’ll sweat like no other, but man is it beautiful up here. City on one side and bay on the other

Hạ Long Bay
This has been one of my bucket list destinations for so long and I can’t even explain to you how amazing it felt to see it in person. This place is truly incredible. Whether you go for a day trip or choose to spend a few nights out on the water, it is a must see

Wyndham Legend Halong Hotel
I kid you not that this HUGE room with a view was only $50 USD... we had the biggest bathroom and a bedroom with 180 degree view of halong bay. It was incredible!!
