My GO-TO!! Whether you need a quiet solo morning reading or journaling, or a chill place to catch up with a friend over good coffee and amazing artsy toast, this place just flat out rocks for all of it. Avocado toast, chickpea smash toast, apple & brie toast... okay they're all good. And try a scone!

Park Avenue Coffee - Downtown St. Louis
Before coffee, get a slice (or two) of gooey butter cake! So many flavors made with real, quality ingredients. They even ship their gooey butter around the country! Hot dang. They truly know what's up. The coffee which is air-roasted in small batches (and the tea) is obviously great too since it made this list.

Comet Coffee
If you can grab a table, you're lucky! It's a rather small place but very well-liked and a favorite among many Saint Louisans. Grab a slice of quiche or a savory croissant or a scone while you're there. Amazing.

Coma Coffee
A cool atmosphere serving quality coffee and trendy drinks like fancy oat milk honey matcha lattes and breakfast/lunch items like almond butter sourdough toast with bruleed bananas. Uh...Yum? Also a great place to plop down and get some work done.

Usually pretty crowded at the popular coffee-drinking times (which I guess is like…pssht all the time??) but that just goes to show you they know what they're doing with their popular in-house roasted coffee and breakfast pastries and sandwiches.

The Mud House
This one makes an appearance on two of my lists 'cuz it's cozy and adorable and wonderful. Grab a good breakfast and grab your latte here, and have some deep, meaningful conversations with someone special. It's a good place to do it.

Kaldi's Coffee Roasting Co.
Very popular in the STL realm. There's a bunch of locations. And it's a great spot to get work done! House-made vanilla latté is divine among other coffee-delights. Need a sweet? Gooey Butter Cake. Savory? Avocado Toast.
