Cafe Osage
Combined with Bowood Farms nursery, this place is über Instagram-worthy. They serve seasonal farm-to-table meals, and I am a fan of their simple scrambled egg dish.

The Wood Shack Soulard
Chicken-IN-A-waffle. 'Nuff said. Actually two more things: You can write on the walls and their food puns on the menu are hilarious. Boozy milkshakes are also a hit.

The Clover and the Bee
Adorable (and kinda girly) picturesque breakfast/lunch spot. I only order their quiche. Incredible.

SqWires Restaurant & Annex
Only on weekends. The Smoked Brisket Hash and Shrimp & Grits are the ways to go. Their homemade biscuits are super duper, and they have a bottomless bloody mary bar if you're into that.

Turn
Classic dishes turned a little more artsy and gourmet. Made with local ingredients, this place is tucked away in Midtown near Saint Louis University. Arepas are fabulous, and they always seem to offer some stellar specials.

The Mud House
Doesn't fit in with its neighborhood, but this artsy, hipster-vibe café will leave you with a warm heart. Come for a breakfast or lunch date with friends, family, clients, or just yourself for some quality solo time! Get the "Slinger" and add bacon or ham. YUM.

The Wolf
Huge menu variety for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. But this makes it 5x harder to order. Suggestion: any of their pancakes because warm maple butter makes the world go round. On the later side? The warm, grilled sandwiches or grass-fed burgers.
