Public Market House
has officially opened their new counter in the Public Market House where they will be serving their excellent sushi hand rolls, 11 am – 7 pm, 7 days a week. Owner Jordan Rubin launched the business in 2017 as a food cart on Commercial Street. Mr. Tuna now joins a long list of Portland food businesses that have gotten their start as a mobile operation before making the leap to brick and mortar.

The Black Birch
Dinner Saturday night at Black Birch (@blackbirchkittery) in Kittery started off with this beautiful bowl of Kale and White Bean Soup, followed by a Pork Chop (with sweet potato mash and Brussels sprouts) and finished up with House-made Cinnamon Sugar Donuts. If they were any closer, I’d be eating at the Black Birch on a regular basis.

Fore Street Restaurant
I had an excellent dinner last night with some friends visiting town at @288forestreet. The standout dish of the evening was the Bluefish. Do yourself a favor and get over there to try it before it rotates off the menu.

Eventide Oyster Co.
started off with this brightly beautiful Black Bass Poké with cashews, husk cherries, peppers and radishes. The trick to scorring a counter seat is to arrive just before the 11 am opening. Peak tourist season has just passed and so there were free seats for about half an hour before the restaurant filled up

The Grilled Lobster served atop corn and husk cherries in a pool of lobster butter at @elda.maine. In addition to an always stellar menu, Elda also has some of the best bread

Pizzarino
I stopped by after work for dinner with my good friend @eatingportlandalive. Shown here is the Prosciutto and Mushroom Pizza (prosciutto cotto, mushroom, basil, tomato sauce, mozzarella, evoo). I followed that up with a Crema Cota (2nd photo) for dessert.
