Dumpling'd
If there is one thing I love to eat, it is dumplings. Wellington has a lot of different dumpling outlets, but Dumpling'd is by far the best. Cheap and cheerful, it's a filling meal (or snack!) or any time.

Burger Liquor
The home of delicious burgers in Wellington. The milkshakes are also pretty magnificent, and they have a fantastic range of craft beer to wash down your dinner.

Sweet Mother's Kitchen
This cajun/Southern joint is always crankin' - you'll often struggle to find a seat. If you can snaffle one, though, chow down on the delicious curly fries, po boy sandwiches and macaroni cheese - you won't be disappointed.

Where's Charlie? Lambton Quay store
Another Vietnamese joint - can you sense a theme? These guys do online and phone orders, or there is plenty of room to dine in. Friendly staff and cheap food, what more can you ask for?

The Ramen Shop
If you're heading to Newtown, make sure you stop in at this hole in the wall noodle joint for a cheap and tasty bowl of ramen. Oishii!

Maranui Cafe
When it's good enough for Harry and Meghan, you know its got to be something special! Treat yourself to a delicious lunch, milkshake or scone overlooking Lyall Bay, and watch the planes struggle to land at the airport. A very Wellington experience!

Monterey
Another cheap and cheerful Newtown haunt - and it's a good one. Make sure to try the salted caramel and pretzel sundae!

Mt Vic Chippery
Fish and Chips aren't a uniquely New Zealand delicacy, but we do them best. Grab some tucker from the Chippery and - if the weather permits - head down to Oriental Bay to eat it. Along with half of Wellington.
