Bayou Hot Wings
The tastiest of all the hot wings you can find in NOLA. They say the Bayou Beast sauce is only for the brave, I find the sauce so delectable my mouth is watering thinking about it. If that's not hot enough for you, they have the Bayou Hot Wings challenge with a special sauce that is sure to make you sweat and maybe cry. Those that complete the challenge get a t-shirt and their name on the wall. If chicken's not your style you can opt for shrimp, gator, or even frog legs. All the usually wing fixings available. Their blue cheese dressing is pretty fantastic too. Small spot. Not a lot of seating. Uptown. No alcohol.

Fharmacy Nola
More hot wings here. They've a 911 sauce and a Carolina reaper sauce that will knock you on your butt. The Carolina Reaper makes my eardrums hurt when I eat enough of it. It's so hot I ask for it on the side, so I can dip a little here, a little there. But I always want to dip everything in it, until I'm sweating and complaining about my ears. Their Asian Style Mussels rock too, with a little spicy. A few burgers on the menu, all good. MidCity. Full bar.

Felipe's Mexican Taqueria
Uptown, MidCity and French Quarter locations. This roll-your-own style burrito bar rocks. Tacos, nachos, salads, quesadilla, typical Mexican. It's the salsa bar that I want to bring your attention to. 3-4 types of hot sauces (the habanero is my favorite), jalapenos, cilantro, limes, pickled carrots and radishes, and more. Best part is you can put as much as you want on your burrito. Sure to make your head explode! Full bar and great margaritas!

Taqueria Corona
Probably my all time favorite spot for Mexican food. If you want to try the hot sauces you have to ask for them specifically. There's three: jalapeno, red and black. Jalapeno is fine. Red it hot but the black sauce… is something special. It's HOT HOT and has this delicious smoky flavor. Plus it looks dangerous cause you need to mix it up before you put it on your food. It separates into a dark black matter on the bottom and oil on top. My favorite dish to cover in that dangerous black liquid, the tongue tacos! Uptown and Metairie locations. I've only been to the uptown one. Full bar and great margaritas (on the rocks and frozen)!

Nirvana Indian Cuisine
Indian food can be impossible to find in New Orleans but the Nirvana does it right. Seriously great Indian food, authentic and absolutely delicious. Beautiful decor. I’m a huge lamb fan so the Lamb Goa has my name all over it and boy does it make me sweat! You can ask for items to be spicier. There's a daily lunch buffet and all day Sunday that always has great options if you're really hungry. But if you're looking for the real hot food you're going to have to order a la cart. They also have a large vegetarian section.

SukhoThai
HUGE menu and a pleasantly sized vegan menu (surprising in New Orleans). You can order almost any dish with 1-5 chili peppers as a range of how hot you'd like it. I always go with 5 chili peppers hot and no one wants my leftover but me! The seafood clay pot has always been one of my favorites and the pad Thai (both regular and vegan) is fantastic. Two locations, uptown and Bywater. I'm an uptown girl so that's where you'll find me. Full bar with interesting cocktail menu.

La Thai Uptown
My absolute favorite place for Pad Thai. Ask for it super super Thai hot and stand back! This dish will set your mouth on fire and leave you sitting in a puddle. If heat isn't your thing, you can have the dish regular too. The owner Diane and her family are often in the restaurant and are always helpful and friendly. Hip and stylish interior. Lovely bar with great cocktails and happy hour! Uptown.

Ninja | Restaurant and Sushi Bar
At Ninja they have a pickled wasabi root roll. That’s all there is, pickled wasabi root wrapped in rice and seaweed. It will make you feel like you're about to blow your top. If that's not enough, try the Devil's Roll. There's more in this roll, different types of raw fish and cucumber, wrapped in rice and seaweed and then topped with a wasabi mustard sauce. It's fantastic if....if you're into that kind of stuff. Full bar. They have karaoke but I can't say I'd recommend it.
