Superica
When we heard that this popular Atlanta based restaurant was opening a Charlotte location in the Design Center in South End we were chomping at the bit to try it. Delicious tex-mex food, queso, puffy tacos, and hand crafted cocktails make this spot a must try.

Bardo Restaurant
Not only is Bardo a great spot for date night it's also one of the best new restaurants in the entire City. They may be doing small plates and cocktails just as good as anyone else in Charlotte.

La Belle Helene is probably the most Instagrammed new restaurant in Charlotte due to its beautiful décor and selfie walls but don't let that distract you from the delicious food they are serving up.

The Stanley
This restaurant comes from James Beard Award semifinalist Paul Verica and his skill is certainly evident. Offering small and large plates the locally sourced menu at The Stanley is constantly changing with the season.

Shake Shack
It may be silly to include Shake Shack on this list but Charlotteans were very excited to get their own location of the popular burger chain and rightly so. The burgers and crinkle cut fries live up to the hype and they also do a collaboration with local bakery Suarez Bakery to create yummy custard desserts.

Haymaker
This Uptown restaurant serves delicious upscale southern food with hand crafted cocktails. Although it's open all day for breakfast, lunch, or dinner definitely make a reservation as it fills up fast for dinner. Pro tip: Try to get a seat at the "chef's table" which over looks the open kitchen.

Wooden Robot Brewery
This gastropub is attached to one of the best breweries in town and some of their best dishes include a collaboration using the beer from Wooden Robot. Must try dishes include mac n cheese eggrolls, duck quesadillas, and southern fried bao bun tacos.

Zeppelin
In almost one year since it opened Zeppelin has certainly secured it's spot amongst best restaurants in Charlotte. While the most popular menu items are small plates, you really can't go wrong with anything you order. They also recently started serving brunch and it's just as good as their lunch and dinner menus.

Rosemont
While Rosemont may be more of a bar than a restaurant, this new South End spot still has some tasty snacks to go along with their adult capri sun and Cheerwine slushie cocktails. Try the Fries, Fries, Fries (pretty much just a platter of three different types of french fries!) or their decadent birthday cake milkshake that is topped with a full cupcake!
