Culturally rich London has various art installations across the city but try to fit a show at London's West End for a remarkable experience.

Mumbai
Our home city screams culture and ethnicity from every corner. Home to some of the best restaurants in the country our list is endless but we recommend: Bombay Canteen, O Pedro, Masala Library, Indigo Deli, Leopold Café, Café Madras, Kayani & co, The Table, Golden Dragon, Umame, Trishna. You don't really need to travel far within the city to enjoy the culture as the same can be found by walking the streets where you can find a temple at every corner or a street celebration during festival times. The south of the city has several historical buildings dating back to the British era for a taste of the city's old world charm.

Bangkok
Possibly our favourite city for food is Bangkok. Delicious food can be found at every street corner but we recommend: Baan, Gaggan, Jay Fai, Charcoal, The Local, Paste, Prachak (roast duck only), Nara. For more than a taste of food, Bangkok has a big mall culture where shopping is a daily activity for locals and tourists. While here, ensure you visit grand Palace & Wat Phra Kaew, Wat Pho for the reclining Buddha statue & Wat Arun.

Lyon

One of the most expensive meals ever devoured was in Lyon - the gastronomic capital of the world. When in Lyon it would be a shame to not visit a Michelin star restaurant and the one we recommend: Paul Bocuse’s Auberge du Pont de Collonges. Once you've emptied your wallets here we take you to a few budget options worth a try by upcoming chefs - Le Kicthen Cafe, Les Apothicaires, La Bijouterie, Le Garet are noteworthy. Don't forget to pair your meals with local wines! Cute as a button Lyon is the very essence of the "french art of living" therefore make your way to the relaxed city centre – the heart of Lyonnais art de vivre for a relaxed stroll. Highlight: A funicular from Vieux-Lyon, the old town, to the top of Fourvière hill and the basilica of Notre-Dame, with its golden statue of Mary watching over the city. Absolute beauty.

Barcelona
Eat till you drop is the only way forward when in Barcelona. We recommend: Marmalade for bloody mary brunches, Txapela, Restaurante Nuria, Santagustina - El Born, Bananas, La Barraca (beach club), El Kiosko, Restauranate Barceloneta and La Mar Salada for classic Paella. For a local market experience - The Old Born Market boasts some impressive food & beer prepared by locals. Modern day Barcelona is a slightly complex mix of Catalan & Spanish but in essence truly Catalan and this can be seen all over the city in the form of people, language and architecture. Cultural acivities to indulge in include taking a walking city tour (conducted by history students from local universities) and making your way to Bar Marsella Barcelonas famous wateringhole frequented by (believed to be) Ernest Hemingway, Pablo Picasso and other artists. Not to miss the pride of Barcelona - The Camp Nou stadium & tour experience and Gaudi architecture that can be seen all over the city.

Milan
Milan made it to our list (strong competition from Florence) mostly because it consistantly delivered top notch Pizzas everywhere irrespective of whether it was from street café's or fancier restaurants. We recommend: Gelato from everywhere, Berbere - one of the few places that lets you pick your own dough, Pescaria, Ciripizza, Ribot (one of our best meals ever), Paper Moon, Panzerotti Luinis dough balls stuffed with Mozzarella. While Milan may seem small, every corner has a unique character with every little grid displaying some form of fashion and design. Besides the impressive tourist spots, the tiny streets are where you'll find little art galleries displaying some very impressive & affordable art.

Istanbul
Turkey offers the perfect combination of food where east meets west in more ways than one. "View" restaurants are all the rage in Istanbul and we recommend: 360 Istanbul, Sunset Grill & Bar and Anjelique amongst the very best in terms of city views and refined meals. For a local experience ur picks include Basta for the best durum wraps in the city (in our opinion), Halil & Mucver (super economical), Ciya (Kebabs) & Hafiz Mustafa 1864 for your sweet cravings (baklavas, turkish delight, halvas). Istanbul is a perfect example of very diverse cultures living in harmony. From tall glass buildings towering traditional wooden ones to gorgeous mosques and palaces (Topkapi Palace, Haghia Sophia, Blue Mosque) to crossing the Bosphorous by boat to Kadikoy the cultural center of the Asian side, the two sides live in perfect harmony amidst history and natural beauty.

Cusco
We admit, this is quite an unexpected entry to the list but 100% deserving. Set high up in the Andean peaks where you pretty much have to climb or descend to make your way to some of these spots surely makes you "earn" your meal. We recommend: Pachapapa, Chicha, Marcelo Batata (rooftop), Limo (amazing view), Cicciolina (tapas & peruvian cuisine) and Incanto. Cusco is the capital of the Inca empire and the start off point to visit the Sacred Valley where Machu Picchu is located. Exploring this city was incredibly fun and very different from other cities in South America with its historical monuments that talk about its Inca and colonial past, museums that gather the best of Cusco culture and diverse art and folklore expressions. San Pedro market is where you find locals selling fresh produce and traditional peruvian ingredients. San Blas neighbourhood is the bohemian part of Cusco and is rich in locally owned stores, art galleries and arts and crafts vendors. Museo de Arte Precolombino is the only museum in Peru that showcases ancient Peruvian cultures and is well worth a visit post which you can grab lunch at MAP Cafe (highly recommended). Walking the streets of the city you experience it all from locals dressed in traditional clothes, the sound of local tunes, an occasional llama crossing to handmade jewellery, carpets, rugs, paintings and foods, it is no wonder that Cusco is known to be the oldest living city of the continent.
