The Gelato Fiasco Old Port
One of my go-to desserts on summer nights (or winter ones too). They've got a huge selection of fun flavors, you can't go wrong.

Gorgeous Gelato
Their gelato is the perfect consistency and texture. The owners are directly from Milan and clearly know how to do it right.

Scratch Baking Co
Always busy, you better get here early if you want to grab some of their sourdough bagels, made fresh daily. They also have a nice selection of breakfast pastries and sweets, including an incredible coconut cream cake (and that's coming from someone who doesn't usually like coconut), giant cookies, and cinnamon rolls. They now also have a second location not too far away called the Scratch Toast Bar- more of a sit-down place in a remodelded gas station lot, featuring bagels and breads with an array of toppings.

The Cookie Jar
This bakery makes many different desserts and pastries, but my sweet of choice is their donuts (or their giant donut holes, equally as good if not better). I recommend their glazed red velvet flavor or the chocolate with sprinkles. Their sugar cookies filled with jam are also very good.

Standard Baking Co
They have excellent pastries and breads that are freshly baked daily right there in the store. Their warm, flakey, buttery croissants are exactly the breakfast you need on a cold Maine winter day.

The Holy Donut
Another amazing donut place, but with potato-based donuts. They're denser and richer than normal donuts and are definitely worth experiencing. They have unique flavors including maple bacon and pomegranate; my personal favorite is their salted dark chocolate.
