The historic importance of Malta and the 365 churches on the tiny island mean that there is no shortage of interesting stories. Visit the capital, Valletta, for good food and a historic walk through of the magnficient architecture that saved them from many wars. Sliema is the hip part of town, offering bars and bay-side restaraunts.

Italy
Venice? Rome? Pasta? Cheese? Wine? There is no place that speaks so fully to my favorite things, than Italy. Visit the historic colloseum in Rome, the canals in Venice, then into the smaller towns like Positano or the village Vernazza, part of the National park Cinque Terre.

Amsterdam, Rotterdam, The Hague, Delft and Leiden all are special in their own way, but all offer historic districts packed with beautiful buildings and canals of all kinds. Watch out for bikers!

Brazil
Brazil's beaches are unbeatable, their mountain hikes and sunset views unimaginable. With the beauty of the portuguese language and a love of barbecue (the Brazilian kind, though) there's no way you won't enjoy your time here.

As a huge premiere league soccer fan, this country boasts some of the best teams in the league and if you like soccer at all, or just want to truly understand the culture of England, book a ticket to one of the big matches, you won't be disappointed.

Hungary is a great place for a visit these days, it is still extremely cheap to stay and eat there. There are still so many traditions practiced among the people there and if you are able to visit Budapest, you will be treated to fantastic architecture and equally as incredible turkish baths.

Nicaragua
Not always the luckiest place in the world, the kindness of the Nicaraguan people is unparalleled. The incredible food, hikes and city center of Managua will keep you busy for at least a week.

Greece
Everything from the islands of Rhodes, Mykonos and Santorini to the bustling touristy city of Athens, Greece offers beaches on beaches and the classic coastline view of white homes against electric blue waters. Perfect for a romantic honeymoon or a girls trip.

Canada
Okay, this one is hard because this place is MASSIVE, but BC, Alberta, and Montreal are all some of my favorite stops. Visit Banff National Park, stay north in BC, and then get down to the city of Montreal to experience the bustle of the Canadian city. Vancouver would also be a great stop on your Canadian roadtrip
