Taormina
Underestimated, but entirely more romantic and peaceful than any place I've ever been too, the island boasts beautiful blue beaches (watch out for jellyfish) as well as mountain hikes and old ruins for the history nerd in all of us. Great place to vacation with family.

Prague
I fell in love with Prague immediately because of its city center. The square boasts street performers and patio bars that jut into the action, where visitors can sip a drink and watch a man stand still as a statue for hours on end. The mood in prague is simply unbeatable.

Kraków
As a BIT of a history nerd (especially when it comes to WWII) this place holds a special place in my heart. The city is rich with graffiti and it doesn't hurt that bagels were also invented here. It's a super inexpensive trip with incredible cafes and bars.

Mount Desert Island
Lobster capital of the world? YES PLEASE. Mount Desert Island is where Acadia National Park is located and it is one of the most peaceful places I have ever been. Mountains to hike, beaches to swim in and plenty of carriage roads to run on.

I am a little biased, but I studied abroad here for 6 months and the mix of historical relevance (again, WWII, it was the most bombed country during the war) as well as plenty of beaches (how can one deny the icy blue Mediterranean) and the slow island life make this city one of my all time favorites.

Fes
Take a food tour here (Morocco's culinary capital) and you will never be the same. You might get a little lost, but that's the joy of the Medina in Fez. Lesser known than it's counterpart, Marrakesh, it will be less touristy than some Moroccan cities.

Rio de Janeiro
Mountains? Beaches? City streets? Clubs? Beach Volley? Rio has IT ALL. Forgiving it a little for it's occasional boughts of violence, and museums that burn down suddenly and lose centuries of history... this place is a MUST on any trip list. There is no place in the world like Rio

I mean... the set of Harry Potter... (I know, not technically IN London, but so close) as well as great food, great bars and even better off-the-beaten-path book stores.

Budapest
The city that never sleeps, and I mean it. Visit one of Budapest's many ruin bars, then recover in the turkish baths for the day, jumping in and out of different pools of water and detoxing in the saunas.

Any place in the world with a national park as jaw-dropping incredible as Banff, National Park deserves to be on this list. The blue waters and awe-inspiring mountains are enough to make you want to move there indefinitely.
