Cape Town
I've never seen a more diverse city. From the people to the landscape, everything about this place should be contrasting and unsettling, but instead, it's so effortless and feels natural. In one day, I can go from the beach to a mountain trail to an Indian dinner and then a Mexican bar - and every single experience feels authentic. It's the rainbow nation in more ways than one.

Mauritius
No place oozes 'slow living' more than the picturesque island of Mauritius. When I'm on the island I spend my mornings sleeping in then exploring markets and beaches throughout the day. I'll end the day at a bar, watching the sun go down and the locals dancing.

Île aux Cerfs
Off the coast of Mauritius is a small island with an incredible spot to paraglide. You can get close to the coral reef and see the island from the most incredible angle. What's even better is that many tourist companies have yacht trips to the island so you could easily turn this into a day trip if you happen to be in Mauritius.

Paradise Beach Lodge Pomene
Crystal blue water and local drinks make this island a top-pick for me! I usually find a spot on the white sand and watch the crabs run by while I soak up the sun and serenity.

Durban
As a beach lover, I'm obsessed with the ocean and the warm water in Durban stole my heart. Apart from stunning beaches, the culture is amazing and it's a great way to experience Indian culture with a South African twist.

Portuguese Island
If you'd like to swim among the fishes, then this island is for you! When I first headed into the ocean I thought I would be scared of the open water and the fishes swimming so close to shore and brushing against my leg, but I quickly forgot about everything and simply enjoyed the water.
