Ise
Ise has a few attractions that are not often visited by tourists. There is Meoto-Iwa; also known as the Wedded Rocks. You can also stroll down Okage Yokocho to Naiku shrine; which is a street preserved in Meiji-style and has tons of artisan beers and sake shops.

Kobe
Kobe is becoming more well known, but I loved this place for its giant Chinatown. A really interesting place to walk around and peak into all the little shops.

Nachikatsuura
Getting here is a bit difficult but the shinkansen ride from Osaka to Katsuura is breathtaking. Although the city of Katsuura doesn't have a ton going on, it is a quaint charming village and Nachi Falls shouldnt be missed as it looks like something out of a fairy-tale.

Gujo
Gujo is a mountainous village in Gifu. I found this place was beautiful, had good food, and a lot of culture. Every year they host a festival called Gujo Odori; a festival where all the people in the city and other parts of Japan attend to dance traditional dances all night.
