Dupont Circle
Dupont Circle has a bunch of restaurants and bars. A lot of it is fast casual with the occasional adorable bakery, but there are also some wonderful restaurants. The best part about this neighborhood is grabbing your food to go sit on a bench facing the fountain on a gorgeous day.

Homewood Suites by Hilton Washington DC Capitol-Navy Yard
These two are not exactly the same place, but they have a lot of similarities. Both neighborhoods are recently renovated foodie havens! From new projects from restaurant entreprenuers to sports and theatrical venues and 5 star dining, these two neighborhoods are the future of the DC entertainment scene.

Shaw-Howard University Station
This area recently started cramming restaurants onto Georgia Ave around Howard University's campus. So not only is it a great place to try food, it's also easy to meet people. Try HalfSmoke for a fun, assembly style sausage.

U Street Northwest
U street has a wonderful mix of bars and restaurants. From the historical landmark, Ben's Chili Bowl (get the chilli halfsmoke with everything on it), to hole-in-the-wall hookah joints, to mainstream spots like one of the best McDonald's locations, U Street has it all (especially after a long night out).

Brookland
Brookland carries an artsy vibe. The bars there have a lot of space and personality. Pop into Brookland Pint or Smith's Public Trust for good food and drinks or just walk up 12th St NE and see if you can discover something new!

Historic Anacostia
Anacostia is where classic DC still thrives. This neighborhood is where you'll find a bunch of deliciously slathered, baked and fried carry-out meals at decades old corner stores with many locations carrying a version of the DC staple: mambo sauce.

NoMa
NoMa is a little more spread out because there isn't really a strip where you'll run into restaurants for five consecutive blocks, but the stuff in the neighborhood is worth trying. A quick YELP search will help you narrow down your decisions. Try starting out at Union Station, which is the closest thing DC proper has to a mall. The food there is so good and random!

Eastern Market Station
The best part about eating in Eastern market are the weekend markets. It seems like every type of vendor is out there selling anything from coffee or cold juices and sandwiches to ice creams and pies.
