Baked & Wired
Sorry, but seriously forget about Georgetown Cupcakes. Cross the street and head about three blocks down to Baked and Wired where your mind will be blown with flavors like UniPorn and Smurfette. They've also got a very extensive (and delicious) range of vegan/gluten-free desserts!

Red Velvet Cupcakery
This little shop is so underappreciated even though it has outlasted a number of its competitors in the DC cupcake scene. Try their eponymous flavor as the basis for what all red velvet cupcakes should aim to taste like.

Dangerously Delicious Pies
Have you ever heard of a shop so aptly named? The pies here are absolutely fantastic. Each pie smells and tastes like your grandmother just pulled it from the oven to close out Thanksgiving. Don't miss out!

Boulangerie Christophe
This french pastry shop in Georgetown has the best little treats. They have the art of French desserts down pact. Everything is truly delicious. Walking inside makes you feel like you've stepped up to into the French embassy. Enjoy a drink and pastry on the outdoor patio when the weather is nice.

HipCityVeg
This vegan fast food restaurant has a delicious menu of savory foods, but the milkshakes?!?  Man oh man, these are the best milkshakes (vegan or otherwise) in D.C.  They have a few that are always on the menu, but they also feature interesting flavors each month. These shakes are creamy and delicious, but not nearly as heavy as a traditional milkshake. That’s what you call a win, win.

Ice Cream Jubilee
If you're an ice cream fan-- give Jubilee a try! Whether you just like quality, richly flavored classics or you're always down to try a more adventurous seasonal flavor like sweet potato molasses (we LOVE that one) or honey lemon lavender, Jubilee's ice cream will have you doing a little dance!

Buttercream Bakeshop
This pastry shop doesn't have a wide selection, but that's because the large part of the business is in catering. The handful of treats they offer at the storefront are still freaking delicious. Get there early because they run out of stuff-- FAST!

District Doughnut
These donut shops are so cute. They have a handful of signature flavors that are year-round, then they switch out flavors for each season. The donought flavors are also pretty creative!

Insomnia Cookies
These cookies won't keep you up at night, but you might find yourself waking up in the middle of the night to grab one. Some places can get away with serving crappy stuff because they're open late and they're everyone's only option, but Insomnia doesn't skip on anything. A fresh s'more cookie from Insomnia will do things to you you didn't imagine...
