Burger & Lobster
Burger and Lobster totes three things on its menu, and three things only: a burger, a lobster, and a lobster roll. There are a few in NYC, and they're big enough that they're great for a group or for families. The burger is large and delicious, and comes with thin-cut fries that are a better, fresher version of McDonald's fries.

Brindle Room
Brindle Room is another great classic burger, topped with many slices of cheese and caramelized onions. The fries are thick cut and salty, exactly what you want accompanying your burger.

burger joint
Burger Joint is hidden behind a heavy curtain in a hotel, and once you step in, you're transformed. While the hotel looks a bit like a stuffy midtown hotel, Burger Joint has writing all over the walls with posters slapped on top, and a small wooden counter with loud, friendly staff. The burger is simple but delicious, as are the fries. It's a perfect place for a dark and casual vibe.

Corner Bistro
Corner Bistro is a perfect casual joint for a meal with friends. Their menu is relatively simple (just burgers and fries, with variations for chicken and turkey burgers), and it's a great go to.

Pheasant
Pheasant is a Mediterranean restaurant that serves a very unique burger. It tops the burger patty with smoked kielbasa, provolone, aioli and sour pickles, and serves it with a side of malt vinegar fries. It's a meat on meat creation that's worth getting.

Bar Sardine
Bar Sardine's burger is unique in that the buns are panini pressed. The burger itself is smothered in BBQ mayo sauce, thin crispy potatoes like shoestring fries, thin onions, and cucumbers. All combine together to make a fresh and unique flavor profile.

J.G. Melon
JG Melon is the best classic burger in NYC: come and get your fix of a cheeseburger with onion, lettuce and tomato. Order their "Cottage Fried Potatoes" to go along with it. They're thin, round fries that are so good, you won't want to share.

Suprema Provisions
The cheese on this burger is so melty that it's pouring down the sides of the burger while it's served to you. The burger combines short rib and brisket, and features an iberico jamon bacon jam and black garlic sauce that make the flavor profile so unique and distinct.

4 Charles Prime Rib
It's impossible to get a reservation before 11pm (unless you stay up until midnight a month before and snag the 5:15pm slot), but it's worth scheduling. The restaurant was opened by the same chef behind Chicago's most famous burger joint, Au Cheval. Not only is the burger amazing, but the prime rib comes in three cuts and is one of the best steaks you'll ever have.

Emily - West Village
Emily has, by far, the best pizza and burger in NYC. The Emmy Burger is decadent and original, going beyond just a traditional cheeseburger with ketchup. It features LaFrieda dry-aged beef, EMMY sauce, caramelized onion, American cheese, and pickles on a Tom Cat Pretzen bun with two patties, and a side of curly fries. Your best bet is coming here with one other person and splitting one Emmy Burger and a pizza.
