Halls Chophouse
Gospel brunch on Sundays is an absolute must. While I’ve always been a fan of Halls, I’m giving them an award for “best French toast I’ve ever had.”

Uneeda Sicilian
I thought I had found all the best pizza spots in town...until I came here. Thin crust Sicilian! Better than any Manhattan spot I used to frequent. Very casual....and fetch. This place makes fetch happen.

EVO Pizzeria
15 mins drive from downtown Charleston. My Sunday night special: margarita pizza with spicy calabrese (not a menu Item)...maybe a beer or glass of wine? Puts me in a happy place. Sit at the bar...Melissa is awesome!

Sanctuary Hotel At Kiawah Island Resort
This place exemplifies southern hospitality. 45 mins from downtown, great rooms and the spa is amazing. Surrounded by golf courses if you’re interested. If not, great beach and pool w/numerous bars and enormous fireplaces if the weather is cold.

Deveaux Bank
Only reachable by boat. Just South of Seabrook. Only locals. Can’t bring your vizsla or other bird dog. You can bring all of your favorite beers. Get some sun, listen to some music, and watch dolphins 🐬 pass you by.

Charleston Music Hall
Amazing venue for a concert. Small and intimate. You can also buy an entire bottle of 🍷...what? Yea. And you can bring it back to your seat and keep pouring. Yea. I saw Gregory Alan Isakov recently and the sound and experience was better than anything I’ve ever seen live. Testament to the performers and their pure adoption of the venue, the audience and the city.

Upscale taco spot. Tacos are perfectly sized and extremely fresh/delicious. Margaritas are also delicious.

Uptown Social
I consider it a rarity to find a “sports bar” that has food as good as what they prepare. Favorite pizza is the Bleecker. Fresh sauce, aged mozzarella, pickled jalapeños, pepperoni, oregano, buttermilk ranch drizzle. Done and done. Oh, and awesome roofdeck.

Collective Coffee Co
Formerly Collective Coffee, this gem offers up delicious coffee and 1st class breakfast sandwiches. I’d say my standards for breakfast are pretty high and this place certainly does it for me on a Saturday morning. Toasted brioche buns with soft scrambled eggs (feel almost homemade 🥰), bacon and cheese.

Bohicket Marina & Market
Crabbing 🦀...get yourself a boat, some beers, and some locals and head off the docks at Bohicket. Find yourself a nice little backcreek and chuck the crab traps near the reeds until you feel a tickle on your line. Keep those little suckers on ice until you steam them that night!

Shem Creek Park
Great local spot lined with casual bars and restaurants of your choice. Shrimp boats line the creek and on occasion, you can catch dolphins passing you by. Excellent for Sunday fundays.

Playa Bowls Charleston
Light delicious healthy lunch. My go to is the Tide Bowl: banana blend w/honey and almond milk. Topped with mango, granola, goji berries, kiwi, honey, pineapple, bee pollen.

Freddo Gelato
I have a pretty sensitive stomach...I’m also pretty sensitive emotionally. This is my go to spot for a single scoop of lemon sorbet with chocolate sprinkles. Definitely pricey but I’m glad it is or I’d be in there every day.

Tradd's
Upscale modern local flavor. If you’re looking for a fancy night out with your significant other or just trying to give some house guests a proper night out with a wine pairing, this is your place. For me, tuna tartar, veal scallopini and some wine/cocktails. Bill Murray was at the table next to us when I was there last and he proceeded to do push-ups against the wall. Friend of the program.
