Toyosu Market
Although I prefer the feel of the old market, Toyosu is interesting to see. Note that it is a lot farther away from the city center, but it is the location has most of the famous sushi spots. Be prepared to wait unless you are there right when it opens and to pay cash! Also you cannot go on the auction floor anymore, you have to view it from a few floors us through a window!

The New Otani The Garden Court
The first time i came to tokyo on business, my work booked me this hotel and i was baffled.. first off it is massive with several towers and at least a dozen restaurants, not to mention a bar at the top with 360 degree view of tokyo. My favorite part was the massive buffet breakfast over looking this insane garden - literally the best way to start the morning, it was surreal

Harajuku
One of my favorite places to walk around, shop, & people watch. It is a really diverse neighborhood that spans from the kawaii shops to super high fashion to great thrift stores. I could day just walking the streets

teamLab Borderless
This has become pretty mainstream since I went a year or so ago but it is honestly a really cool experience. I went alone and still had a really good time. There are at least a dozen different rooms with different audio/visual effects. Its out in Odiaba so plan on a bit of a trek, and the mall next door has some interesting shops and decor that reminded me of some of the crazy vegas hotels

Robot Restaurant
Hahah such mixed feelings about this place, seriously dont know if its actually worth the money. I met some friends and we drank before so the show was super funny to us but otherwise I think It would have been pretty weird haha the room is super small and you are sitting along the sides watching people ride weird contraptions

Gindaco Takoyaki
Takoyaki! A super unique squid japanese treat that I love to have everytime I visit. I have tried a few places and this one has been the best so far. Also we tried their taiyaki as well, a japanese fish shaped dessert and the chstard one was SO good. Reminded me of the amazing Portuguese mini custard pies!

Tsukiji Market
One of my favorite spots in tokyo, especially if you like sushi. Although many of the famous spots have moved to the new Toyosu market, this one feels way more authentic and in my opinion the sushi was just as good. You can find great handmade dishes and cups to take home and tons of great food sold by street vendors. If you are lucky you might be there when one of the shops are cutting a huge tuna outside!

Sensō-ji
Stunning colors and cool fortune experience at this Buddhist temple. You can pay to get your fortune and if its good you take it with you and if its not you tie it up and leave it behind!

Imperial Palace
I’ve only been in the winter but I assume it is sooo much more beautiful in the spring time when the trees ad flowers are in full bloom. Nice place to take a relaxing stroll

ITAMAE SUSHI Akasaka
This sushi restaurant is unique for its traditional style seating, where the tables are basically built into the ground. They have kimonos you can wear as well. Great sushi, and we watched a table get some sort of flaming dish/drink... maybe worth looking into haha

Shinjuku Golden Gai
One of the coolest places to go out, each bar has 3-5 seats and most are themed! Also home to one of the best ramen spots, Nagi! (2f, 1 Chome-1-10 Kabukicho, Shinjuku City, Tokyo 160-0021, Japan) highly recommend, its very different than any other one ive tried

great spot for lunch, cash only! I prefered the pan fried gyoza verses the steamed ones! Also the cucumber salad with miso is super good!

Ichiran Shibuya
Straight up life changing ramen - its a chain so you will find several of them around. This is the spot that has dividers in between the seat and serve your ramen through an opening in front of you. Ordering is cash only through a vending machine, and I always order the egg to come with my ramen! Sooo good. I have waited up to an hour in line and I will probably do it every time i visit haha

gram premium 代官山店
I went to Gram back when it was open in harajuku, now that one is apparently closed but the location tagged here is open - nonetheless these pancakes are to die for. You don’t know pancakes until you have tried these fluffy masterpieces. If it is anything like the other location, i had to come get a ticket hours before and get a time slot to come back to be served.

A chain but known as one of the best boba places in tokyo! I’ve gotten both the matcha and milk tea, and i love that they let you choose your level of sweetness!

Tokyo Tower
To be honest it was a little underwhelming.. I think its a really cool tower from the outside but going up it wasn’t really worth paying for in my opinion.. you are super high and can see pretty far but thats about it haha

Shinjuku
Another large neighborhood worth spending a day or two in. There are shops, tons of restaurants, and great bars & karaoke spots! You’ll find the Godzilla here towering over a hotel and its home to the robot cafe, probably the weirdest show I’ve ever seen haha

Takeshita Street
The second busiest street in tokyo besides Shibuya crossing haha there is something fun about being moved in a wave down these super colorful crazy streets and people watching. A ton of teenagers hang out in this area and you’ll find some fun shops to look around, as well as candy and treats of all colors

AFURI
I ordered their yuzu shio ramen, their signature ramen, without really paying attention and was surprised when it actually tasted like citrus hahaha a nice change from most of the ramens I’ve tried! Tasted a lot healthier and kind of refreshing, if you can use that to describe a hot soup haha
