Hopdoddy Burger Bar
Between the literal chalices of beer of on-tap beer, some of the best fries (sweet potato and regular) that I’ve had in my life, and accommodation to dietary restrictions (vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free), what’s not to love?

The Pharmacy Burger Parlor & Beer Garden
By far the greatest burger place I’ve ever tried. I get the falafel burger every single time, and both the tater tots or regular fries are the best side dishes, in my opinion. Seasonal homemade sodas have always been a hit for me, and outdoor seating in the summertime is some of the best in Nashville.

The Wild Cow
Delicious and reasonably priced vegan options—some of my favorites are the stir-fry bowl and the quinoa bowl. The rotating menu options are also always amazing—they once had a vegan shakshuka that was out of this world. Also located in one of my favorite parts of Nashville.

Chago's Cantina
In a city where restaurants aren’t open as late as you’d expect, Chagos Cantina is a great find, and they’re open till 11 p.m. most nights. My personal favorite menu item are the enchiladas, but the veggie fajitas are a strong second and portion sizes are huge. (Also free chips and salsa given that you get food or a drink!) Also awesome location on Belmont Boulevard!

bartaco 12 South
The first time I tried the falafel taco I was baffled that I had lived my whole life without something like it. The best guacamole I’ve had in Nashville, great ambiance, and excellent cocktails. Also, if you leave without getting the key lime pie in a jar, you’re missing out on a truly divine experience.

The Smiling Elephant
After traveling to Thailand a few years back, I was worried I’d never have good Thai food again. Well, Smiling Elephant brings authentic Thai food to Nashville. They recommend starting out your experience there with the Pad Thai—and I do too.

proper bagel
As close as you can get to NYC style bagels without actually traveling to New York. Also, they source their coffee from Barista Parlor, so it’s some of the best in the city.

Fido
Ditch Pancake Pantry next door because Fido blueberry pancakes is where it’s at. Also, if you’re lucky enough to be around when they have their seasonal Grey Skies latte available, get ready to try the best coffee drink of your life.

True Food Kitchen
I doubted whether this place was worth the price—but it is SO worth it. Vegan, vegetarian, and gluten-free friendly, and the only place that actually has great (not mediocre) vegan cheese. Some of my favorites are the edamame dumplings, Brussel sprouts, vegan pizza, and teriyaki bowl with tofu!

Kay Bob's Grill & Ale
Great beer, great food, great vibe, and great location. My favorite thing to order is the Dancin’ Desiree, with sweet potato chips! The spicy red pepper hummus is a must-try as well, and I’ve heard great things about the Tammy Rae!
