Sobrino de Botín
Botin is noted as the world's oldest restaurants with a wood fire oven burning for about 240 years. The suckling pig is their specialty but I did enjoy the garlic prawns, Iberico ham with melon and the local wines.

Madrid
If in Spain, the city of Madrid must be visited. It is one of my favorite cities in Europe due to the beautiful boulevards, charming cobble stone streets, Spanish architecture, food and art scene. There is an elegance and sophistication to Madrid but it also feels casual and laidback. One city that I would love to go back to over and over.

El Retiro Park
Located in the heart of Madrid, this large park containing more than 15,000 trees is a lovely place to spend part of the day. There are row boats, shaded places to stroll and have a light snack or ice cream. Until the late 19th Century, the 'Park of the Pleasant Retreat' used to belong to the Spanish Monarchy.
