Magnolia Bakery
A classic and an essential stop on every visit to NYC. Their best item is hands-down their banana pudding, it’s as if you’re eating a fluffy cloud of delicious magic, not overly sweet with delicate hints of banana–nobody does it better. Make sure to check out their monthly flavors (past ones include salted caramel, s’mores, chocolate, and confetti), but you can’t beat the original. Also shout-out to their amazing cakes, available as a whole cake or by the slice.

Levain Bakery
If you are a cookie-lover and in NYC, you MUST stop here. Their cookies are bigger than the palm of my hand and almost two inches thick. The inside is just the right amount of gooeyness (melted choc chips and all), balanced with the crispy outside, making every bite worth savoring. I recommend their original chocolate chip walnut (they also have double chocolate chocolate chip, oatmeal raisin, and chocolate peanut butter chip).

DŌ, Cookie Dough Confections
If you’ve been eating cookie dough in your kitchen for years like I have, DŌ is your dream come true. They serve scoops of cookie dough like it’s ice cream, all perfectly safe to eat. The dough is available in several flavors (including signature choc chip, peanut butter snickerdoodle, cake batter, gimme s’more and many more), so it’s guaranteed to satisfy all of your sugary cookie dough cravings.

City Cakes
Have you ever wondered what half a pound of solid cookie looks like? Well, stop by City Cakes, the bakery that specializes in these massive masterpieces, available in a variety of flavors that will make your mouth water. My favorite is their red velvet, which is filled with cream cheese frosting.

Big Mozz
These people don’t mess around with their mozz sticks, definitely the best I’ve ever had. You get that perfect cheese pull every time. They are coated in a seasoned bread crumb crust that’s not too thick or too thin, giving you just the right amount of crunch before breaking into the melty mozzarella interior. The sprinkle of pecorino romano cheese and the side of marinara complete the wonderful explosion of flavor in your mouth.

Milk & Cookies Bakery
The first person to combine ice cream and cookies into one dessert was a genius, and Milk and Cookies Bakery does it best with their cookie ice cream sandwiches. Picture giant scoops of ice cream between two freshly baked cookies of your choosing, rolled in sprinkles, chocolate chips, M&Ms, you name it.
