IJ-Hallen
One weekend a month this massive flea market is held in Amsterdam Noord’s NDSM Wharf. When I say massive, I mean MASSIVE - plan to spend all day here and still you won’t have covered everything. Prices will be slashed as low as €0.25/clothing item by the end of the day, so if you like something but it’s too expensive try again later in the day.

Pllek
Plleck is built into a bunch of old shipping containers and has a cool grungy vibe. It’s right next to NDSM Wharf, making it easily accessible. There are great views of the city as it’s right on the water.

Noorderlicht Café
This bar has a good selection of beers and a great view of Amsterdam from across the IJ river. It’s right by the NDSM Wharf ferry stop, making it easily accessible. There’s plenty of outdoor seating on the “beach” (okay it’s just sand, but in the Netherlands we consider that to be a beach) and some nights they have live music, too!

Café de Ceuvel
Café de Ceuvel has a great outdoorsy, grungy vibe, tucked down an alley and along a small canal. They have tons of outdoor seating for when the weather is nice and a huge selection of locally brewed beers. Also, their fries are to die for.

Noorderpark
A rare green space among the concrete industrial side of Amsterdam Noord, Noorderpark offers a nice respite. There are some playgrounds and even a little splash pool for kids. It’s not some place where you can spend a full day probably, but that’s fine since there are many small restaurants nearby!
