Mason Jar
Stop by The Mason Jar for the best sandwich on the Cape (well, that is if you order the #2 - but any other sandwich will also do). Conveniently located in downtown Harwichport, you can grab a sandwich and bring it to the beach!

Sesuit Harbor Cafe
Sesuit Harbor Café is a bit out of the way unless you're staying on the bay side of the Cape, but it's still worth the trek for some bomb lobster dishes. Pretty much everything on the menu is lobster-based for the classic Cape Cod experience. The lobster mac n cheese is particularly good, but most people opt for the classic lobster roll which is also a great choice!

Ember Coal Fire Pizza
With a vast selection of incredible thin crust pizzas and tasty cupcakes for afterwards, you better show up to Ember with an empty stomach. On a summer night, you can sit outside by the big bonfire and grab a drink at their outdoor bar.

Sundae School Ice Cream
This is the original Sundae School location and it definitely feels like an old school ice cream parlor - they even have one of those pianos that plays itself when you put in a few quarters. The line gets long and the police have to direct traffic pretty much every summer night, but it's definitely worth the wait!

Marion's Pie Shop
Technically in Chatham, but just over the Harwich border on Rt. 20, Marion's Pies is a must-stop for fresh baked pies. The bumbleberry pie is to die for. Make sure to get there before the afternoon to ensure you have a full selection of pies to choose from!

Sundae School
Although this isn't the original Sundae School location, they have the same fresh-made ice cream and whipped cream and the same base flavors, but sometimes different specials. If you come around the 4th of July, be sure to get the special sundae with fresh berries - it's amazing! This location is easily accessible by foot from downtown, or there's normally plenty of parking.

Guapo's Tortilla Shack
Most people probably aren't coming to the Cape for Mexican food, but if you have a craving, this is where you go to satisfy it. The food is great and the atmosphere feels like a little pocket of texmex on Cape Cod.

Chapin's Bayside
Practically on the beach, Chapin's Bayside has many great fresh seafood options. There will always be a long wait here during the summer but it's definitely worthwhile. They also have an ice cream stand outside if you're still hungry after!

Clancy's Restaurant
Located right on Swan Pond River, Clancy's is a nice waterside alternative that's not as crowded as some place along the beach. That said, you'll still have to wait a bit during the summer, but it's 100% worth it for their food.

Hot Stove Saloon
Hot Stove is a cute baseball themed restaurant right in downtown Harwichport. Hint: Hot Stove dinner tastes best when you get it for takeout and eat it on Red River Beach down the road.

Chatham Candy Manor
If you've already filled up on all the amazing seafood and ice cream that Cape Cod has to offer, you better make more room because the vast selection of candies and fudge at the Candy Manor are not to be missed! I'd recommend heading straight for the fudge counter and sampling a few slices, but if you're looking for a candy fix, you can definitely get it here too!

Dr. Cavity's Candy Shack
Located behind Dr. Gravity's Kite Shop is the lesser known Dr. Cavity's Candy Shop (get it?). From nostalgic NECCO wafers to scorpion lollipops to regular old Reeses, you'll always find something to cover your cravings here.

Hole In One Breakfast & Lunch
There are two things that Hole in One does right that no other place can compare to: eggs benedict and donuts. Go with an empty stomach because you'll never want to stop eating. If the line is too long for a table, just switch to the bakery line and grab some donuts to bring home.

Ruggie's Breakfast and Lunch
Located in snoozy downtown Harwich, you'll get the quintessential feel for summer in small town Cape Cod at Ruggies. It's a diner-style place with limited seating, but luckily it's pretty unknown so you won't have to wait too long even on a Sunday over the summer.

Jack's Outback Restaurant
I spend all year thinking about the lemon poppy seed french toast with fresh raspberries and it never fails to fulfill expectations every. single. year. Don't let the line on a Sunday discourage you - they're very efficient. And, the owner's dogs are normally roaming around outside if you would rather pet the dogs while you wait. And don't forget to take a picture in the bathtub!

Buckies Biscotti & Bakery Cafe
Buckies has a great bakery selection, so don't limit yourself to just their biscotti! They've got a great café vibe, but most people opt for take-out since there isn't much seating. Great to bring back home or enjoy on the beach!

If Sundae School is too intimidating or you want to switch up your flavor options, check out Schoolhouse Ice Cream on 28. They have a long list of great flavors that it's impossible to go wrong. The perfect way to end a long day on the beach without having to bother with the lines you'll see at most ice cream shops.
