Maastricht
When I stepped out of the train station and walk the main boulevard to my hotel, I thought to myself "Is this place for real?" Honestly it reminded me of Main Street in Disneyland! The streets were lined with pedestal lights and hanging flowers. In the center of the main boulevard there was a pedestrian Island lined with benches and people enjoying the sunshine. It was truly amazing! When you walk further down the main boulevard you will cross over a bridge to the city center which is even more charming. There are a lot of places to shop for clothing and anything fashionable. Delicious restaurants and cafes can also be found throughout Maastricht. I vowed to return as it is such a way city! One of my favorites in the Netherlands :)

Little V
There are so many different options in the Chinatown district of Den Haag but I must suggest Little V. This restaurant was recommended to me and it is one delicious place. They offer the traditional pho and Binh bowls but there are other items on the menu which are a bit different than in the States. I tried the fish with the vegetarian fried rice, both were excellent! Also, if you like spicy then ask for the chili pepper sauce. It is made in house and it is incredible!

Het Konings Huys
This is a nice restaurant in the middle of the Market Square. Yes, it is a bit touristy but it a nice place to people watch and get a bite while listening to the church bells. I suggest to wait until noon if you are wanting the regular lunch menu. If not they offer nice coffee drinks and small bites. I waited with a coffee until noon so I could order the Fish Stew which was great. It was a bit pricey but I could sit there, people watch and get Wi-Fi for no additional charge!

Cheese And More Delft
If you like cheese and want to try out what the Dutch has to offer, then this is your place. Inside you can sample every type of Gouda, sheep cheese, goat cheese, young cheese, old cheese, etc that their farm produces. It is in Market Square so you do not have to go into the countryside to try out regional cheeses.

Maastricht-Centrum
I vowed to return to Maastricht, I fell in love with this charming City within the first few minutes of my visit. There is a lot to do here especially if you like to eat and shop! The shopping is what I would like to come back to Maastricht for. Little boutiques of European fashion littered the cobblestone roads. There is also a serious cafes in here and plenty of places to eat. I could definitely make a full trip here with an empty suitcase and an empty stomach. If you are not into shopping, this is still a lovely town to wander through. The main basilica has a Roman field to it and you can go inside for just a donation. It is a very safe, quiet and upscale type of town. Everyone is friendly and helpful. It is quite the place. I will return one day with the clothes on my back and an empty suitcase!

Delft
I will say that Delft was my favorite city in the Netherlands. It is a charming and sweet University town just minute by train from Den Haag. When I say it is charming, it is 100% charming. The Market Square is full of life and is surrounded by old storefronts. The canals and walking streets that surround the Market Square are like a step back in time. It is also smaller so it does not get as busy as Amsterdam. If you are to go to a second city in Holland other than Amsterdam, check out Delft! Check out The Old Canal, too - The Old Canal in Delft is definitely old. It is reputably the oldest canal in Holland dating back 1200 years. It is a quiet little canal with old homes, cafes and a former weaponry storage. It is a nice place to take a stroll and do some shopping.

Stadsherberg De Poshoorn
Do you see that window with a balcony on the corner? That was my hotel room. All the hotel rooms are above the restaurant below and the location is about 5 minutes walk from the train station. Although there is not a lift, someone will take up your luggage as you check in at the restaurant bar. You also get free water bottles that you fill up with either sparkling water or still. There is also a coffee maker in the hallway that you share with other people. When it comes to being hydrated this place kept you hydrated! My room was wonderful as it had 3 twin beds and it was only myself. The room was very large and clean. The breakfast in the morning was phenomenal! Absolutely do I recommend this place for your stay in Maastricht. I really enjoyed my stay here!

The Hague
The Hague is quite a modern city in the Netherlands filled with both old and new. If you are looking to shop, you will find a fun shopping area close to China Town not to far from the train station. Den Haag is also the home to Vermeer's 'Girl with Pearl Earring' which can be a great reason to visit!

Hotel Des Indes
This historic hotel was first built as a mansion in the mid 1800s and later turned into a hotel. After a couple of World Wars and decades of changing times the Hotel Des Indes remains in tact. The interior is filled with the splendor of days gone by. If you are not staying here, you can still experience the Lounge area for breakfast, lunch or tea.

Mauritshuis
The Masters! The Mausristhuis is home to Vermeer's 'Girl with the Pearl Earring' and she is stunning. There are other beautiful works here by other Masters, such as Rembrandt. There was a special Rembrandt exhibition when I visited in 2019. My suggestion is to locate where the Girl with Pearl is in the museum, she was in Room 15 when I visited. Get to the museum when it opens and head straight to the painting!

Boat Trip Delft
The Canal Cruises in Delft are both fun and educational. There are many things to see in the 50 minutes while cruising along the canal. You get to cruise along the oldest canal in Holland, learn about the different buildings and the history of the area. The price is not expensive, about 10 euros, and it is worth it!

Vlees & CO
Vlees & Co is a few minute walk from the Arnhem Central Train station and at the edge of the shopping district. They offer delicious steaks served on a little grill. The sides are quite delicious like the BBQ leeks and they offer great sauces like the Garlic Veal.

Kröller-Müller Museum
This Modern Art Museum with a beautiful sculpture garden is set inside the De Hoge Veluwe National Park. It is worth the visit even just to explore the grounds and the beautiful pieces of Modern Art housed inside a Mid-Century style building. You can check their website for the most recent information on buses from Arnhem or Appledorn.

't Nieuwe Plein
B&B - If you plan to spend the night in Arnhem, this little hotel above Vlees & Co is a nice stay. It is a few minute walk from the train station and the shopping district. The rooms are cozy, have plenty of towels and offer coffee/ tea in each room.
