I lived in Mexico City for a month in 2018. Here are a few of my favorite spots 🇲🇽 👇🏼👇🏼

Huset
One of my favorite restaurants in Mexico City- perfect for a brunch or when the weather is nice. Very cool atmosphere and surrounding greens.

El BalcĂłn
The US ambassador in Mexico (who lived in CDMX for 2 years) recommended this spot to me for brunch, and I see why. It’s a bit on the pricier side for Mexico, but everything in Mexico is cheaper than USA. Fantastic view, amazing food- definitely worth checking out

Chapultepec Castle
Chapultepec is an amazing park- it’s Mexico City’s version of Central Park, and there is so much to explore within the park. One of the best things to check out is this castle- which has fantastic views of the city (really cool gardens and rooms) and definitely an Instagrammable spot.

Mexico City Metropolitan Cathedral
This is the heart of the historic downtown of Mexico City- the cathedral is great but be sure to check out all the surrounding areas in ZĂłcalo. The ruins of the ancient city are right around the corner, as well as expansive markets and shows from performers in the square nearby. Easy to spend a great afternoon in this area (or take a walking tour here)

Torre Latinoamericana
This building has the best views in the city- I think it used to be the tallest building in all of South America. There is a great observation deck and a bar on one of the top floors with great views too

Xochimilco
These famous canals and their colorful boats are the center of the party. Enjoy some drinks as you cruise around- visit the creepy Island of the Dolls, and jam out to some music (potentially a floating mariachi band)

Roma
You can’t leave Mexico City without eating a TON of street food. So many insanely good tacos, tamales, churros, etc. I lived in Roma (very cool neighborhood) and would get street food every day. One of my favorite parts of the city!

Pata Negra
A great bar in the trendy / hip Condesa area if you’re looking for a lively scene. They also have salsa dancing some nights - but even if you go on a relaxed evening they have great drinks and great food

Aztec Stadium
You can’t leave Mexico City without watching some futbol- and the biggest (and craziest) stadium in the country is the place to do it. I thought I bought regular tickets (like $15 US) but turns out I got VIP tickets that had unlimited food, unlimited drinks, and were on the 6th row.. just another example of why prices in Mexico are so great- buy tickets online and enjoy the madness
