In the first Avengers film, Hawkeye, Black Widow and Captain America crash their ship in the real New York, onto the plaza in front of 101 Park Avenue, a skyscraper often at the centre of action – it was known as ‘Clamp Tower’ in Gremlins II, as well as used in Terry Gilliam’s The Fisher King and Woody Allen's Alice.

Atrisco Heritage Academy High School

This high school, southwest of Albuquerque New Mexico, was used in the first Avengers film as the exterior of the secret S.H.I.E.L.D. facility, where Nick Fury (Samuel L Jackson) and Professor Selvig (Stellan Skarsgard) is working on the Tesseract before Loki appears.

Shalom Grill - Burgers, Kabob, Shawarma

At the end of The Avengers, Iron Man remarks that he’s never tried shawarma after he spotted a shawarma joint while flying around Manhattan during the Chitauri Battle. During the last post-credits scene, we find the very exhausted superhero team chowing down on the yummy Middle Eastern treat. Director Joss Whedon filmed the scene at the then-Elat Burger (now Shalom Grill), located at 9340 West Pico Boulevard in Los Angeles. To keep the scene a secret, Whedon filmed it a day after the film’s world premiere, when the entire cast was in Los Angeles. Fun fact: Sales of shawarma rose in Los Angeles, St. Louis, and Boston following the release of The Avengers in May 2012.

Creekside Mushrooms Ltd

There are 150 miles of abandoned limestone tunnels 300 feet beneath the ground at Creekside Mushroom Farm, which was used in the filming of the Avengers film as the underground passages where Loki makes off with the mighty hypercube.
