The gorgeous campus grounds at the College of Charleston were used in a few scenes in The Notebook film, which served as the backdrop for Allie’s college. Other films have taken place here, like the Patriot.

Cypress Gardens
The romantic boating scene from the film The Notebook was filmed here at Cypress Gardens. If you take a tour, you can see the exact location where it was filmed (but heads up, you might not see hundreds of swans like in the film 🦢)

Boone Hall Plantation & Gardens
Allie’s summer home in The Notebook film was at Boone Hall Plantation. A number of scenes were filmed on the property, including the couple biking down the avenue of oaks.

American Theater
Several early scenes from The Notebook are filmed on King Street in downtown Charleston, including where Noah and Allie go on a double date to a movie, then lie in the middle of the street, then dance in the middle of the street. Not a bad first date... well done sir.
