Krafla
The snowy mountainous landscapes of the base, in the film Star Wars the Force Awakens, were filmed in the northeast corner of Iceland, at Krafla Volcano and My'vatn Lake. This is where the Starkiller Base is located for the Star Wars The Force Awakens film.

In Star Wars The Force Awakens, Low-level X-Wing flight sequences over Takodana with the background was apparently flipped horizontally shows X-wing fighters of the Resistance arrive over Thirlmere, to the south.

The dense, deep-green forest, in the film Star Wars The Force Awakens, into which Rey flees in Star Wars The Force Awakens, and is forced to confront Kylo Ren himself, is Puzzlewood, near the town of Coleford about 20 miles west of Gloucester, in the Forest of Dean, Gloucestershire.

Great Skellig
In the final scenes of Star Wars Episode VII: The Force Awakens, Rey finally discovers Luke Skywalker at this island of Skellig Michael, in County Kerry, Republic of Ireland. This is also the location for Star Wars Episode VIII: Scenes of Luke's hideout and Rey's Jedi training.
