St. George's Caye is like being on a private island. You are very well taken care of on this island, offered drinks on the beach (there is a sea wall), provided water equiptment, given options for excursions, provided three amazing meals a day, and have a spa. You easily feel like royalty on this island and can do as much or as little as you want.

Dolphin Discovery Isla Mujeres

For great experiences in swimming with dolphins I enjoyed both these experiences. I tend to not do these excursions anymore for animal rights reasons but the animals seemed well taken care of at these facilities and Discovery Cove has other great facilities such as snorkeling, a lazy river, and lounging on a beach.

Elephant Rescue Park

Unfortunately, not every animal experience is created the same. In Thailand our guides were careful to select a sanctuary where the animals are truly taken care of and it was obvious when we met Tomato and Papaya. They came up all on their own and were walking around the grounds (which are massive...I saw no fences, not saying there aren't some elsewhere) and we were allowed to feed them bananas throughout the whole experiecne which they loved. I would highly recommend this place. Eddie, the owner, runs the sanctuary with his family and also provides a great lunch. Super great guy with a great sense of humor too.

Sunday Night Market

The Sunday Night market is absolutely massive...if I had to guess I'd say it's over a mile long. A lot of the items are repeats but this is the place to shop and there are many food street vendors as well. It's definitely a great experience but be prepared for crowds and hold your purses.

Tiki Tattoo

If you are looking for an authentic bamboo tattoo experience this is the place. It is run by a well-established New Zealand man. He is very dedicated to his work (the guy literally took 20 minutes to make sure he had a good placement for my tattoo and turned my vision into an amazing design).

Caveman Snorkeling Tours

If you are going to snorkel in Belize go to Caye Caulker and go to Richard's Adventures. He is a great guy that has grown up in Caye Caulker and knows exactly what to look for in the water (he pointed out a swarm of rays in the water to us as he was driving the boat). You go to four different spots and also are provided some snacks. He provided us with some gorgeous local donuts made from a bakery that morning.
