Cathedral of Girona
The pinnacle scenes of Season 6 happen here, at the main Girona Cathedral. As you approach the cathedral from Via Augusta, you pass under a large archway: this is the same archway Jamie Lannister and his troops, including House Tyrell, marched under to prevent Margaery’s atonement. Swoon

Jardins De La Francesa
After walking to the side of the Cathedral, you will notice that you have three options: walk down the steep street, walk to your right and slightly up for the upper part of historic Girona, or go through an archway and ascend steps that take you behind the Cathedral. Take this last route to Bisbe Cartaña, near the Jardins de la Francesa. Heading up the stairs, this street will wrap around the Cathedral, which allows for a beautiful and close-up view of the church’s architecture. It will also take you to the first scene of Season 6 with Arya, where she is begging and is then approached by The Waif for fight training.

Pujada de Sant Domènec
This was used in an dramatic escape scene with Arya Stark (Maisie Williams) running from the waif character. Arya makes a big jump onto the steps and then rolls down them.

Castillo Almodovar del Rio
Season 7 featured the stunning location of Castillo de Almodóvar del Río, a castle of Muslim origin located in the small town of Almodóvar del Río in the province of Córdoba which was the ancestral home of House Tyrell, and *SPOILER*seized by the Lannister family near the end of season 7!

Gaztelugatxe
Season 7 began with scenes of the Dragonstone filmed on Gaztelugatxe, an island 35km from Bilbao on the coast of Biscay in the Basque Country. The name translates as ‘Castle Rock’ and there are 241 steps to the top of the rock! There is no castle at the top, however, just a small church but the journey to get there is worth it.
