Wategos Beach
Beautiful little beach around the headland from the main beach. It's quieter and one of the prettiest beaches in the area. Bring snacks, fid a spot under a tree and set up there for the day.

The Pass
It's an easy walk between Wategos beach and the pass - just over the headland. Popular spot for surfing, there's rock pools and a beautiful lookout spot on top of a big rock in the water.

Cape Byron Lighthouse
A must -see for anyone, the Byron lighthouse is on the most easterly point of the Australian Mainland. You can take a tour up to the top of the lighthouse or walk around the many viewing spots looking for dolphins, turtles and whales.

Zephyr Horses
Spectacular! The horses are well known and loved, the guides match you to the best fit for your riding experience and everyone walks away with new skills. The forest rides are absolutely beautiful, and the beach rides at sunrise are something else. So well priced with the best service.

Bangalow
Make a morning of shopping and eating in the charming town of Bangalow - about 30 minutes away. In fact I always like to make a day of it. Grab some breakfast in Bangalow and then enjoy the beautiful drive out to Nightcap National park for a walk.

Protesters Falls
It's about an hour from Byron, but if you have the time and a car it’s a MUST see. The drive is absolutely beautiful and the walk to the falls is easy and short (about 20 minutes). You can add other walks from Nightcap National Park to your day as well.

Newrybar
Another tiny town just outside of Byron - there's an antique shop, the Newrybar Merchants (a collective of beautiful labels - clothing, homewares and gifts) and Harvest - a popular place to eat for any Byron visitor in the know.

Main Beach
Friday to Sunday - sometimes weekdays locals come with their bongos and rhythm sticks and form the sunset drumming circle at the rocks on main beach. Treat yourself to a sunset walk along the beach from either Belongil or The Pass and finish up with a dance as the sun disappears.
